"Did something happen at Cunningham Residence that upset you?" Chandler asked gently.

Helen shook her head and reassured him, "It was just a minor issue; I've already moved past it."

"Regardless of whether you've moved on, I'll make sure to settle this score for you, Helly," Chandler replied, placing a tender kiss on her forehead.

He then changed the subject, saying, "I've found Shawn. He'll be back soon."

Upon hearing this, Helen's eyes flew open, and she became fully alert.

It was clear that Chandler had been working tirelessly to resolve things on her behalf. Despite this, Helen found herself becoming increasingly less resistant to Otto.

She had never felt as undeserving of Chandler as she did at this moment.

"However, there's a slight complication," Chandler continued cautiously. "Shawn might not be able to perform the surgery on Cameron right away."

Helen pulled away from his embrace, her brow creased in confusion. "Why? Did something happen to him?"

"Not exactly," Chandler replied. "It seems he's changed quite a bit while he was away. He's been very uncooperative and resistant—I had to practically drag him back."

"How did this happen?" Helen's renewed hope seemed to waver.

"I'm not entirely sure yet," Chandler replied. "Maybe meeting him in person will help you understand what's going on."

Helen nodded thoughtfully. "That's a good idea. We should arrange a meeting as soon as he arrives."

"Agreed," Chandler said without hesitation.

The instant Helen's eyes met Shawn's, she felt the searing hostility in his gaze. She stood in front of him, looking down with a raised eyebrow. "What's your issue?"

Shawn turned his face away defiantly, refusing to acknowledge her. To an outsider, it might have seemed as though Helen was his sworn enemy.

"I'm not interested," Shawn responded firmly. "I'm a man of principle; nothing material can alter my integrity. Even if I can't defeat you, I won't compromise my values or associate with people like you."

"And what kind of people are we?" Helen asked with a trace of amusement. To her, Shawn came across as nothing more than a stubborn relic from a bygone era.

Shawn gave her a scornful look and snorted dismissively, choosing not to say more. The unspoken contempt was almost unbearable for Helen, and she was on the verge of lashing out.
