Helen calmly replied, "Surprised?"

Mandy felt a bit guilty. Yet, she tried to encourage herself and muttered, "There's nothing surprising about it."

Then, she planned to leave. Helen spoke clearly, word by word, "You are the thief, aren't you?"

Mandy's steps halted. She felt an unknown nervousness and said, "What are you talking about?"

Helen smiled slightly. "If you didn't steal, why did you leave when everyone was ready for the fingerprint check? Why did you run here after hearing about the surveillance being checked?"

Mandy refused to admit anything, and she said firmly, "I just happened to pass by."

Helen spread her hands. "I knew you wouldn't admit it. But evidence is more powerful than eloquence. What do you think will happen if I hand all this evidence to the police?"

Mandy panicked. "What evidence? Where did you get your evidence from?"

Helen looked at her as one would look at a clown. "There is always a flaw in every perfect plan. Do you think I'm lying?"

Beads of sweat started forming on Mandy's forehead. Her mind was in complete chaos at the moment.

"I was thinking of giving you a chance. But since you are so adamant, I see no need to preserve any sense of fellowship among classmates. Maybe I should just hand all the evidence to the police."

"No!" Mandy instinctively exclaimed.

Helen observed her with a smile that was not quite a smile, as if waiting for her to speak.

Mandy was not sure whether Helen actually had any evidence. But she did not want to take the risk. If Helen were to hand over the evidence to the police, she felt that it would be the end for her.

It was just the two of them there. Helen's words were essentially offering her a deal.

Helen did not respond to her immediately but thought for a few seconds and then said, "Actually... I had no evidence. But now, I do."

As Helen's words fell, the door to the security room opened. Jasmine, Jenny, and the other classmates walked in. Jasmine did not hesitate and slapped Mandy across her face, stunning her.

Jenny said fiercely, "It was you all along. Minor pranks were one thing, but stealing is just low."

"It's unbelievable that I shared a course with someone like you," other classmates also started expressing their disdain.

Mandy then realized she had been outsmarted by Helen.

"What are you talking about? I don't understand what all of you are talking about!" Mandy shouted at everyone.

Jasmine said coldly, "Cut the act. We heard everything just now."
