Helen quickly realized what had happened. It seemed Phishie had planned a date with Abram but had to cancel when she received Helen's call.
"Looks like I might have disrupted your plans," Helen said with a knowing smile, gently nudging Phishie and Abram closer together. "Go ahead and enjoy your time together. I'd rather not be a third wheel!"
Phishie's cheeks flushed red. Noticing her embarrassment, Abram swiftly took her hand and led her toward the door. "We'll head out now. Have a great evening!"
Before Helen could say anything more, they had already hurried out, quickly vanishing from sight.
Helen watched them go with a thoughtful smile, feeling a blend of emotions.
Phishie had often mentioned that she valued appearance highly—if someone didn't meet her standards, she probably wouldn't even be interested.
Although Abram might not have Tyrone's standout looks, he did share a resemblance with today's heartthrob, Dexter Monroe. Together with Phishie, they made quite a well-matched pair.
Helen felt reassured. She had worried that Phishie's infatuation with Tyrone might leave her feeling overlooked or hurt. Nonetheless, it seemed that life had a way of bringing the right person into one's life at just the right moment.
Left behind, Abram's friends could only laugh in disbelief. "Can you believe this guy? He ditched us for a pretty face!"
"So, what do we do now? Are we still watching the match?"
Helen looked around and noticed that the space was larger than they needed.
Turning to Tommy, she proposed, "Since they're friends of a friend, why don't we let them use the machines on the right to watch the match? We can take the private room on the left for ourselves."
"I'm fine with that," Tommy said, standing up and heading toward the private room. "The match is about to start, so we shouldn't delay."
The young men immediately expressed their gratitude. "Thanks so much. You're the best!"
Helen didn't respond further. She quickly followed Tommy and Bentley to the largest esports room.
"This setup is impressive," Helen commented as she powered up the computer. "The processor from Brown Group has definitely set a new benchmark."
As Helen's words trailed off, Bentley leaned in and glanced at her.
"You must be a computer science major, right?" he remarked, turning his attention to the front desk. "That explains why the owner charges 100 dollars an hour. If that's the case, it's definitely worth the price.
"I'll ask the boss later where we can get them. If we secure a couple, we won't have to keep coming out here."
"Are you looking to purchase computers?" Helen asked. "If so, you might want to contact my friend. He's in the computer business and might be able to offer you a discount."
"Whether there's a discount or not isn't the issue," Bentley said confidently. "Did you see the logo? It says Brown Group. I haven't seen these available for sale anywhere else, so they're probably exclusive for internal use. The average person won't be able to buy them."
"That's precisely why I suggested getting in touch with my friend," Helen said calmly. "He works at Brown Group."
After all, Gordon was the owner, so she wasn't exactly being dishonest.
