Helen didn't explain further, pulling Paul along as they quickly disappeared from Chandler's view.

Chandler felt he must have been seeing things, perhaps due to having too many drinks. It had been so long since Hannah vanished. He wondered why she would sing in such a place if it was her.

Moreover, the person he just saw felt slightly different from the Hannah he remembered.

He shook off the thought and left.

After leaving the bar, Helen finally released Paul's hand. "I need to get back. I have things to do tomorrow."

Paul seemed reluctant to part ways. He opened his mouth to share something he'd been holding back. "Helen, did you see? Just now, so many people were captivated by your music. Over the years, countless fans, even though you stopped singing and writing, still check in daily in the fan forums, waiting for your return. Can you truly bear to leave those fans who once adored you?"

Helen pursed her lips. "I can only apologize to them."

Paul knew Helen's words were final, just like before, leaving no room for change. Yet, he still harbored a sliver of hope. "Regardless, Helen, we're all waiting for your return to relive the glory days."

Helen smiled and patted his shoulder without saying anything else.

"Take me back," she requested.

Paul dropped Helen off at her apartment. Before leaving, he couldn't help but add, "If you ever change your mind, contact me anytime. I'll always be waiting for you."

Helen waved goodbye and entered the apartment building.

Fortunately, Chandler hadn't returned yet. Helen went to her room, got ready for bed, and slept, preparing for tomorrow's exam.

She got up early while Chandler hadn't come back all night. Not dwelling on it, Helen grabbed breakfast at a nearby shop before hailing a cab to the examination center.

Upon her arrival, Jasmine and Jenny were already waving at her from a distance. "Helen, we're over here!"

Helen was dumbfounded. Jenny and Jasmine exchanged glances. "Spill it, Helen. What's going on?"

Helen shrugged as she was equally confused. "Nothing's going on."

Jasmine and Jenny clearly didn't buy it, pestering Helen until she helplessly knocked on their heads. "Save your gossip for later. Focus on the exam."

Jenny still wanted to probe further but eventually held back. "I bet he's got a crush on you."

After saying that, Jenny stuck out her tongue at Helen and waved goodbye as she headed to her exam room.

Jasmine quickly added, "Don't mind her. Good luck!"

She waved at Helen, who watched them leave. Looking at the stationery in her hand, Helen wondered if Ethan had really taken a liking to her. She couldn't understand how someone could like her with that ugly face…
