Helen calmly sat down and discreetly sent the URL of Savage Sphere to Kyle for investigation.

After class, she approached Edmund to request a leave of absence. "Mr. Murdoch, I have some personal matters today and need to ask for leave. Could you please give me a leave slip?"

Edmund frowned impatiently. "Helen, you've just joined this class, and you already want to skip? If you're not committed to studying, you might as well tell the principal you want to quit the specialized preparatory program. Don't waste my time with your inconsistent attendance!"

He must have some kind of mood disorder.

Not wanting to argue further, Helen tried to remain calm. "Mr. Murdoch, you misunderstand. I do want to learn, but this matter was arranged with a friend months ago. I don't think it's good to go back on my word. Don't you agree?"

"I don't care if it was arranged months or years ago. I wasn't aware of it then. I'm not your steward, Helen. Why should I be expected to accommodate your demands from so long ago? If I don't approve your leave, what will you do about it?" Edmund replied with a dismissive attitude.

"In that case, I'll have to request permission from Mr. Morrison," Helen said, nodding slightly to acknowledge his response before turning to head toward Jacob's office.

"Sure, go to Mr. Morrison. You're so good at using your connections!" Edmund shouted after her, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

His words were a thinly veiled jab, suggesting that without Jacob's support, Helen would be nothing. Of course, Edmund's notion of "connections" also included Otto.

Edmund had reported to Jacob the previous night, requesting the installation of iron bars at the downstairs gate and locking it half an hour into the class to prevent anyone from entering or leaving.

"Oh, that?" Chandler pulled out a set of iron chains from behind his back and casually tossed them in front of Edmund. "I've already cut them for you. No need to thank me."
