"Thank you for your concern, Mr. Craig," Helen replied firmly. "But even if my husband were to try to control me, it would be with my consent. Our relationship is not something you need to worry about."

"If that's the case, then maybe I've been overthinking things," Colin said gently. "Given that Tonya calls me by my first name and I consider you family, you're welcome to call me Colin too, Ms. Spencer."

"I must disagree," Helen replied resolutely. "My relationship with the Stones is separate from yours. It's best to keep things distinct; otherwise, everything could become quite chaotic."

"This world is already chaotic," Colin said impulsively.

"What do you mean by that?" Helen asked, her tone growing sharp.

"It's nothing," Colin said quickly, masking his emotions and slipping back into his polite demeanor. "Anyway, I won't keep you any longer. Have a pleasant evening, Ms. Spencer."
