Taylor finally relaxed and crawled out from under the table.
"Finally, a meal in peace! You have no idea how tough it's been these past few days. I haven't even dared to go home—I've been sleeping in my car. It's been such a hassle!" Taylor grumbled, straightening his clothes.
Just then, Abigail's voice rang out from the doorway. "So, how miserable has it really been?"
Taylor's eyes widened in panic as he darted behind Jenson, peeking out cautiously. When he saw Abigail's face, a wave of despair instantly swept over him.
"What the hell?" Taylor hissed, jabbing Jenson in the shoulder. "You said no one was following you!"
"That's right," Jenson said, grinning mischievously. "Abigail came with me, so technically, she's not following me."
"You—" Taylor seethed, his hand rising to flip Jenson off, but he quickly stopped himself.
With a strained smile, he slapped Jenson's chest. "What a great friend you are! You must be worried I'll explode from rage, huh?"
"Not at all!" Jenson leaned in, lowering his voice. "Abigail just broke up with Gideon. This is your chance. See? I'm just trying to help you out."
"Help me out? My ass!" Taylor shot back, grabbing Jenson by the collar.
"Hey, why can't you appreciate my good intentions?" Jenson shot back, visibly frustrated.
"Why should I?" Taylor retorted, on the verge of making a scene.
"Hey, Taylor!" Abigail called out, cutting through the tension. "Stop stalling and come with me!"
She fixed him with a determined glare, making it clear she wasn't going to let him off the hook.
"Ms. Kaylee, whose side are you on?" Taylor asked, his voice tinged with frustration.
"You're both my friends, so I have to stay neutral," Helen replied. She secretly hoped this would help push things along between them.
With that, the three of them made their way back to the private lounge. Taylor purposely sat as far from Abigail as possible, which only seemed to make her more irritated.
As Chandler entered with Lincoln and Sienna, he immediately sensed the tension in the room. He approached and sat down next to Helen, leaning in to whisper, "What's going on?"
Helen flashed him a mischievous smile. "Sit back and enjoy the show. You'll see soon enough."
Chandler let go of his curiosity and reclined in his seat, ready to see how things unfolded.
