Jenson was at a loss for words. He draped his arm around Taylor's shoulder and said earnestly, "I thought we were cut from the same cloth, but I've got to give it to you—you're the real romantic. Me? I'm just a lovesick fool."

"Alright, then!" Taylor nodded. "I'm throwing caution to the wind today—let's have another round!"

"Bartender, more drinks, please!"

At the Terzian residence, Helen was finishing up as she tucked Abigail into bed. Just as she was about to head for a shower, she passed through the living room.

Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted Lincoln standing by the door, peering through the crack.

She walked over and nudged the door open slightly, her voice barely a whisper. "Sweetheart, are you looking for me?"

Lincoln glanced up at her and gave a serious nod.

Not wanting to wake Abigail, Helen quietly closed the door and led Lincoln back to his room.

"Alright," she said, crouching down with a gentle smile. "Now's your chance to ask anything. Whatever you're curious about, just let me know."

Lincoln hesitated for a moment before asking earnestly, "Mommy, Mr. Newton is my daddy, isn't he?"

Helen felt a flicker of surprise mixed with concern. "How did you figure that out?"

"From the moment I first saw him, something about him felt familiar," Lincoln said thoughtfully. "I've noticed how he looks at you when he thinks you're not paying attention.

Helen stared at him, momentarily stunned by how perceptive he was at such a young age.

Her expression hardened, and she tightened her grip on his hands. "Lincoln, it's crucial that you keep this to yourself. You can't tell anyone, or it could put our family in danger. Do you understand?"

"What about Nana?" Lincoln asked.

"I'm afraid Nana can't know," Helen replied reluctantly. "She's too trusting and doesn't understand the importance of keeping secrets. If she finds out, it could put us all at risk."

"Okay, I promise I won't tell anyone," Lincoln said earnestly.

Helen sighed in relief, but when she noticed the serious expression on his face, her concern resurfaced. "Why didn't you answer my previous question? Is it because you don't like Daddy?"
