"Honestly, there's nothing like being able to kiss and hug the person you love every day. That's when you really start to feel alive," Jenson said, a goofy grin spreading across his face at the thought of Germaine.
Turning to Taylor, his expression shifted to concern. "Seriously, do you have any feelings for Abigail at all?"
Taylor clicked his tongue, exhaling a cloud of alcohol before flashing a devilish grin. "I've got feelings for you."
Setting down his bottle, Taylor cupped Jenson's face in his hands, leaning in playfully. "Come on, give me a kiss!"
"Goddamn it, you're such an idiot! Knock it off!" Jenson squirmed, trying to push him away, but Taylor only held on tighter, leading to a chaotic, playful tangle.
Just then, Priscilla walked in and froze. From her vantage point, it looked like Jenson and Taylor were on the verge of kissing, their faces just inches apart.
Her vision darkened for a moment, and she pressed a hand to her forehead in disbelief. "Oh God, please, no!"
Was Jenson in love with Taylor?
For all these years, Priscilla had believed their bond was purely brotherly. She never imagined it could be anything beyond that.
The Newton family simply couldn't afford a scandal like this!
Taking a deep breath, Priscilla steadied herself. She rushed forward, shoving Taylor aside while pulling Jenson away.
Taylor, already half-drunk, stumbled back and crashed into the bar, instantly passing out.
"Mom?" Jenson blinked, his drunken haze lifting as he recognized her. "What are you doing here?"
Without warning, Priscilla slapped Jenson hard across the face. "What the hell do you think you're doing? Get back home now! If I ever catch you messing around out here again, I swear you'll regret it!"
Stunned, Jenson instinctively rubbed his cheek, fury bubbling up. "What was that for?"
"Are you leaving or not?" Priscilla raised her left foot, sliding off her high heel as if she were ready to use it.
In reality, she would have preferred they stop seeing each other completely, but considering their family statuses, she chose her words carefully to remain diplomatic.
Taylor assumed Priscilla was scolding him for getting Jenson drunk and out of control. He nodded quickly and said, "Don't worry, I know my limits. It won't happen again."
"It's normal for elders to disapprove of younger people partying. A few words of apology should smooth things over," he thought to himself.
Seeing his sincere attitude, Priscilla couldn't bring herself to be too harsh. "You're very considerate. It's just such a shame… you're a man, after all."
With a deep sigh, she turned and walked out of the room.
Taylor continued to nod absentmindedly, but soon, her words sank in. He blinked in confusion, looking toward the door.
What was wrong with being a man?
