Sienna nodded earnestly. "Yeah, Linc doesn't let me play with those boys!"

Helen gave a strained smile, unsure how to respond.

Were Lincoln and Sienna too mentally strong for their own good?

Just as Helen was about to speak, Lincoln turned and walked off. "Mommy, can you take us to Phoenix Bookstore? I want to buy something."

Helen gave a brief shrug, slipping her hand into Sienna's as they silently trailed behind him.

At 6:00 pm, Howard and Jeremiah were dropped off at Chandler's house.

"Lincoln's friends are here! Welcome, welcome!" Helen called out cheerfully as she descended the stairs. "Are you all hungry? Should I grab some snacks?"

"Yes, please!" Howard nodded enthusiastically.

But just as the words left his mouth, Lincoln's sharp voice rang out from upstairs.

"They're not eating."

As soon as Howard and Jeremiah looked up, another command echoed from above.

"Come upstairs. Now."

Frustrated, Howard puffed out his cheeks, gripping the strap of his backpack. He sulked behind Jeremiah, dragging his feet up the stairs.

As soon as they entered Lincoln's room, he shoved a towering stack of workbooks into Howard's arms.

The pile was so high that it completely blocked his view, and he stumbled under its weight, barely able to keep his balance.

Jeremiah gasped at the sight, but before he could speak, Lincoln tossed him a pair of headphones.

"The computer's over there. I've downloaded 'The Basic Cholonese' course for you. Finish it by the end of the week," Lincoln instructed flatly.

"That's not fair!" Howard fumed, his face flushed with frustration as he peeked out from behind the huge stack of books. "Why do I have to do all this homework while Jeremiah gets to play games?"

Still feeling puzzled, Helen saw that the computer was on and moved to turn it off. But as she approached, she stopped short.

The screen displayed a Cholonese language learning game—one Lincoln had finished years ago. Why would he have reinstalled it?

Helen turned, eyeing Lincoln with suspicion. Her gaze fell on the problem set in his hands, and it all clicked into place.

"You're tutoring your classmates, aren't you?" she said with a teasing smile. "I didn't know you had it in you to be so considerate."

Lincoln tossed the problem set onto the table with a casual flick of his wrist. Shoving his hands into his pockets, he stood up, radiating an air of indifference.

"You're overthinking it, Mommy," he said. "My friends' IQs are too low. If I hang out with them, I'll just get made fun of."

Helen pouted, playing along with his act. "Alright, I might not get 'guy stuff,' but next time you have company, just give me a heads-up. If I mess up the hosting and it gets out, I'll be the one getting laughed at."

Lincoln paused, then gave a slight nod. "I'll try to remember."

Helen stood up and walked over to Lincoln, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek. "You're such a good boy."
