Ursula swung a punch at Adrian's chest, but he caught her fist effortlessly.

He looked at her with a serious expression, his gaze unexpectedly calm. "Whether it's a joke or not, you made a promise. A gentleman's word is his bond, and you can't just abandon me now."

Ursula twisted her wrist, trying to break free. "So what? I'm a woman, not a gentleman. If I say it doesn't count, then it doesn't!" she shot back instinctively.

Adrian frowned in frustration, his grip tightening. "Are you really going to go back on your word? Not a chance!"

With a resigned sigh, Ursula pulled harder. "Get up. I'm taking you to the hospital."

Nonetheless, Adrian stubbornly refused to budge, holding his ground. In his mind, going back without resolution felt worse than dying here.

Realizing she had no other option, Ursula gave in. "If you come with me, I won't take back what I said. Deal?"

Adrian was surprised, his grip loosening as he nodded like a willing child. "Deal."

What should have been a quick car ride turned into a half-hour trek as Ursula dragged Adrian along the road.

After the doctor examined him, he prescribed several bottles of medication. Once everything was set up, a nurse came in to tend to Adrian's injuries.

The nurse was rough in her approach, making Adrian squirm in pain. Unable to watch any longer, Ursula stepped in. "I'll handle this. I have experience with this sort of thing. You can go back and rest."

"Alright, just call me if you need anything," the nurse replied with a yawn before retreating to the break room.

Ursula grabbed a stool and placed the tray of supplies beside her. She started applying medication to Adrian's wounds, handling each movement with care.

Taking advantage of the moment, he borrowed the nurse's phone and dialed Chandler's number.

"I've got a situation here…" Adrian began, outlining everything that had happened the night before.

"Where are you now?" Chandler asked.

"At a clinic near her hometown. We're okay, but it's clear the attackers were well-prepared. I'm concerned they might have other plans in motion, so I wanted to give you a heads-up," Adrian said calmly.

"I understand. Hang tight; I'll be back as soon as I can."

After exchanging a few more words, Adrian ended the call.
