"Brat, what are you talking about? We're going to be a family soon, and there's no need to draw a line between us." Priscilla gave him another slap on the back.

"Ouch!" Jenson rubbed the spot where he had been hit and complained, "You were not like this when Helen married into our family."

Priscilla was momentarily speechless. After a long silence, she said earnestly, "That was my first time becoming a mother-in-law, and I handled things too harshly.

"If I had known Chandler would turn out to be such a jerk, I would have treated Helen better. Now that I think about it, I really owe her an apology."

"If she returns in the future, are you still going to make things difficult for her?" Jenson asked.

"Cut the crap." Priscilla instantly became serious again and pointed at his chest, commanding, "Listen, Germaine is a good woman. You better behave well in front of her mother later and not mess things up, or else…"

As she said that, she made a mock gesture of hitting him.

Jenson pretended to dodge meekly and continued to challenge Priscilla. "No, I still think we shouldn't spoil them."

Priscilla slapped him on the face. "If we don't spoil her, then are we supposed to let you mess around outside? Let me tell you, you have no other choice but to get married and have children in this life."

She would never agree to him marrying Taylor.

Jenson rubbed his numb face and pouted, feeling aggrieved. "You really hit me. Am I not your son anymore?"

Priscilla chuckled. "If you marry Germaine, you'll be my son. If she runs away, you'll no longer be my son."

"And you call yourself my mother?" Jenson pretended to be jealous and snorted as he walked out of the private room.

"Where are you going?" Priscilla asked.

"I'm going to see if your beloved daughter-in-law has picked up her mother."

Priscilla was well-known to be fierce, and Germaine had grown up experiencing her mother's assertiveness. If these two people really got into an argument, the scene would be unimaginable.

The thought of it made her anxious until Jenson's warm hand wrapped hers. Stunned, she turned to look at him and saw Jenson wink at her, giving her a reassuring look. It was only then that she calmed down.

Soon, all the dishes were served. Priscilla raised her glass first and made a toast. "The first toast is for the two children. Let's wish them a lifetime of love and happiness."

As soon as she said that, the other three people raised their glasses, except for Tiana. The scene suddenly became somewhat awkward.

"Mom," Germaine reminded Tiana to at least show the Newtons some respect, even if she didn't approve of the marriage.

Tiana ignored Germaine and remained seated with a sullen and aloof face.

If it were in the past, Priscilla would have flipped the table and stormed out of the room. But now her son was in the wrong, so she could only endure the unfair treatment in silence.
