A moment ago, Anna had been full of confidence. Now, she clung desperately to the horse's neck, screaming for help at the top of her lungs.

"Help! Please, is there anyone? Help me! Oh, God! I'm going to be trampled to death by this horse! Kaylee, do something, please!"

As Helen prepared to intervene, she noticed a man in a horned hat galloping toward them from the distance.

In no time, he matched their speed and expertly leaped onto Anna's horse. After several attempts, he managed to calm the frightened animal and guide it back to safety.

Still shaken, Anna attempted to dismount, but in her distraction, she lost her footing and twisted her ankle. Gasping in pain, she struggled to stand.

"Anna? Is that really you?" The man's face lit up with surprise as he recognized her.

"Arthur? What are you doing here?" Anna asked, her voice a mix of amusement and disbelief.

"Isn't it obvious? I'm on vacation! I saw in the news that you and Carl were visiting Grand Cathay, but I never expected to run into you here," Arthur Ferragamo replied with a smile.

"Yeah, what a coincidence. Ouch—" Anna winced, inhaling sharply.

"I think you both should catch up later. We need to get you some medical attention first," Helen suggested, deliberately keeping her medical expertise under wraps.

"No, no, no, that's not necessary," Arthur interjected, raising a hand to stop them. "Trust me, a hospital visit means shots and medication, and healing will take ages. Let me handle this. What do you say, Anna?"

After a moment's thought, Anna nodded in agreement.

When old friends reunite, emotions tend to run deep.

During the meal, Helen felt like a third wheel. She mostly nodded and smiled as Anna and Arthur reminisced about their past, leaving her with little opportunity to join the conversation.

However, this didn't bother Helen; her main goal for the day was to ensure Anna had a good time. As long as Anna was enjoying herself, Helen considered her mission accomplished.

At first, Helen hadn't given their relationship much thought. But just as they reached the hotel entrance, Anna suddenly grasped Helen's arm, her expression turning serious.

"Kaylee, about meeting Arthur today, I need you to promise not to tell Carl," she said. "We have a… complicated history, and I really don't want to give him any reason to worry."

Sensing the seriousness of the moment, Helen gently patted Anna's hand to reassure her. "Don't worry, it's our secret."
