Alice lounged seductively in the car seat, her body turned slightly to the side. Resting her chin in one hand, her gaze boldly wandered down to Jenson's legs. "Who else did you think it would be?"

Jenson's expression was a tangled mess of shock and anger, but more than anything, it was filled with confusion—he had no idea how to face Germaine after what had just happened.

"Get out!" he bellowed, his bloodshot eyes burning with rage. "Get the hell away from me—now!"

It was the first time Alice had ever seen a man so rattled after the act. Her usual fearless confidence faltered, and the smile slipped from her face.

In a panic, she hastily grabbed the clothes from the floor. After throwing them on, she rushed out of the car, as if fleeing for her life.

Meanwhile, Jenson sluggishly got dressed. In a daze, he collapsed back into the seat, his eyes vacant as he stared into nothingness.

Time dragged on painfully. Concerned that Jenson hadn't returned, Germaine decided to take matters into her own hands.

All of a sudden, the car door swung open, jolting Jenson from his daze. His eyes widened in alarm, panic flashing across his face.

Germaine's radiant smile greeted him. "What shady business are you up to behind my back? Why are you so on edge?"

"I'm not!" Jenson snapped, his voice laced with frustration.

"You really startled me!" Germaine said, placing a hand over her chest. "If there's nothing going on, then never mind. There's no need to get all worked up over nothing."

Noticing the strange expression on Jenson's face, Germaine quickly raised her hand to his forehead, checking his temperature. "Why are you sweating so much?" she asked.

"It's nothing," Jenson muttered, guilt evident in his eyes as he pushed her hand away.

Sliding out of the car, he added, "I'm just feeling a bit off. Feel free to stay here and keep talking. I'll head back first."

Germaine wanted to follow him to make sure he was okay, but Jenson didn't give her the chance. He turned and walked away without looking back.

As she watched him go, her heart grew heavy with worry. She realized she needed to find a moment to sit down with him and talk things through.

With Freya still waiting in the private lounge, Germaine had no choice but to head back alone.

The moment she stepped out of the elevator, she was startled to come face to face with an old acquaintance.

"Hey, Gem, what a coincidence," Bryan greeted her.

Just as Germaine opened her mouth to respond, Freya stepped out of the room. Spotting the two of them talking, she quickly jogged over, eager to play the role of matchmaker.

"I see you two have already met. Perfect! Let me introduce you properly. This is Bry—"

"There's no need to trouble yourself. We already know each other," Bryan cut in, his gaze on Germaine carrying a hint of affection.

Freya looked between them, a knowing smile slowly spreading across her face. "Well, that makes things easier. Germaine, didn't you mention needing investors? Bryan is my mother-in-law's nephew, and he's currently looking for new projects. You two should have a proper chat; it could lead to something."

"I had already considered investing in Gem's company back in Grand Cathay, but she suddenly disappeared, making it impossible to find her.

"I never expected fate to be so kind and bring us together here. It's a sign, don't you think?" Bryan said, his eyes lingering on Germaine as though he wanted to take in every detail of her.

Freya couldn't help but smile widely. From the look of it, she was confident the deal was as good as sealed.

As the saying went, "Strike while the iron is hot." Seizing the opportunity, Freya decided not to overstay her welcome.

After escorting them to the private lounge, she quickly made an excuse to leave, ensuring the two were left alone.

The moment the door clicked shut, Bryan broke the silence. "I never imagined we'd meet again like this. It feels like fate is on my side. Gem, we're meant to be—this is destiny."

"Whether it's fate or something you and Freya set up, only you know."

Freya scoffed. "Anyone can talk about a good game, but I'm only interested in the results. You have one month to win Germaine over, or I'll find someone else to take your place. If you fail, forget about getting your hands on my family's resources."

With that, she stormed off.

Bryan's lips curled into a smirk, his eyes filled with a sharp, calculating gleam. After finishing his cuts, he took a bite of the thickest, most blood-red piece of steak.

The rich, tender flavor of the premium meat flooded his mouth, and he closed his eyes, relishing the moment.

"That's how it is," he thought. "I always get the best—whether it's food or people."

In Room 401 of Miravell State Hospital, a deep, commanding voice resonated through the room.

"Starting today, you're not riding the motorcycle anymore. Until your injuries are fully healed, you're staying here in this hospital. Keep a close eye on her. If she goes missing, I'll have you all pack up and leave immediately!"

"Yes, sir!" The security team responded in unison, their voices booming with compliance.

With that, Dominic stormed out of the room, his expression as cold as ice.

Over a dozen security personnel quickly spread out across the entire fourth floor, ensuring every corner was monitored.

Abigail's treatment was nothing less than that of a high-risk criminal.

However, the reality was that her bones had already been set, and only minor external injuries remained. Keeping her confined for long wouldn't be easy.

In less than ten minutes, she was already standing at the door of the ward.

"Miss, finding a job these days isn't easy. Please, don't make things harder for us."
