Abigail arrived to visit Helen. As she entered, she overheard Taylor pouring out his frustrations.

"That naive woman—she trusted people far too much. She thought by going to the red-light district, she could find someone to clear my name. She even went alone with the money. How could anyone be so gullible?"

Taylor couldn't bear the guilt of dragging a sheltered lady into such a nightmare. He had no idea how to make things right with Lucy or how to atone for his mistakes. His mind was a jumbled mess, lost in confusion with no clear way forward.

Abigail's expression faltered for a moment as she listened. She had seen the news before coming. Initially, she had thought it was just a tragic accident, but now it seemed like a series of events that had all led to this devastating outcome.

If she had only accepted Lucy's request for help, maybe Lucy wouldn't have been driven to such desperation and fallen into the hands of those malicious people.

Nevertheless, no one could predict the future. "What a shame," she murmured, aware that nothing could change what had already taken place.

In the end, everyone had their own fate to follow.

As Abigail drifted into thought, a figure dashed past her, charging into the hall and quickly tackling Taylor to the ground.

What followed was a relentless barrage of punishing punches.

Hugo's fists hammered into Taylor's face, each strike more forceful than the last. "You bastard! I told you not to touch my sister! Look what you've done to her! What's she supposed to do for the rest of her life now? I'll kill you, you piece of shit!"

Helen instinctively moved forward, ready to step in. But as soon as Chandler noticed that Taylor wasn't even trying to defend himself, he quickly blocked her way.

"Wait…" Helen's eyes were filled with worry as she silently pleaded with Chandler. "Please, don't let him hurt him too much…"

"He won't," Chandler reassured her. "With Hugo's build, he won't be able to cause any lasting damage."

Only then did Helen grasp Chandler's point. Despite Hugo's strength, he was still just an ordinary person. No matter how hard he struck, he couldn't cause serious harm to Taylor, whose physique was as solid as a bodybuilder's.

Abigail cast him a cold, disdainful glance. "Taylor, you've completely lost my respect."

Turning to Hugo, her expression was as cold as ice. "If I'm not mistaken, Taylor only got involved with Aiden because of the Hunt family. If he's to blame, then what about you?

"You've accomplished nothing and shown yourself to be completely incompetent. If you hadn't blindly trusted Aiden, we wouldn't be in this mess.

"Honestly, your mistakes are far worse than Taylor's. So, what's with this act of being the protective big brother now?"

Hugo felt as though she had struck him to his core, his strength evaporating in an instant. He sank to his knees, overcome with anguished self-reproach.

Indeed, he was the real failure. He couldn't even protect his sister—how could he possibly have the right to blame anyone else?
