"The antiques should just be left there for display. How could they not understand this basic principle?"

The more he thought about it, the angrier he became. He angrily threw his prepared cereal into the sink and stormed off to his room, booting up his computer.

Two days later, the man, now in a carefully disguised appearance, positioned himself just outside the surveillance zone of the historic home. From his concealed vantage point, he silently observed the comings and goings of the Newtons.

He had already inquired with the real estate agent before coming, and today, Chandler would be signing the contract with the buyer.

Half an hour later, he drove away from the historic home with Helen.

The man immediately started his car engine and followed them without making a sound.

20 minutes later, he followed the couple into a commercial building, reaching the upscale restaurant on the 25th floor.

By the time Chandler and Helen arrived, the buyer was already there.

The buyer was fashionable, wearing sunglasses, sparkling gold and silver jewelry, and an exaggerated straw hat. She was clearly a wealthy woman.

Watching the couple sit down across from the rich woman, the man retreated to the wall, thinking for a moment before turning and heading downstairs.

Ten minutes later, a waiter hurriedly approached Chandler's table, reporting anxiously, "Sir, madam, the security downstairs says your car was attacked. The tires have been punctured, and you may need to go down to confirm the situation."

"Is that so?" Chandler looked serious, turning to take Helen's hand. He nodded apologetically to the buyer. "Sorry, we'll be right back."

They then took the elevator downstairs together.

As the elevator doors closed, the man emerged from around the corner, a smug smile on his face. "Chandler really loves his wife. He can't bear to be apart from her for even a moment. Well, that makes things easier—saves me the trouble of separating them again."

After speaking, he suddenly reached under the table, grabbed a spray can, and aimed it at her face. A thick cloud of white powder filled the booth in an instant.

Abigail had anticipated this. Holding her breath, she sprang to her feet as soon as the man stood up, grabbing his shoulder firmly. "You think you can escape? Not a chance!"

However, she had underestimated the man's cunning.

With a wicked smile, the man quickly raised his hand and aimed a silver needle at her arm.

Again?

She widened her eyes in surprise and tried to dodge, but it was too late. The needle struck her elbow precisely.

A sharp pain shot through her, and her whole arm went numb. She staggered and immediately knelt on one knee.
