Kingsley strolled in casually, tossing a package to Helen. "Here's the next round of medication. The bigger one is for Abigail, and the smaller one is for Taylor. You can take them over to them."
Helen glanced inside the bag. The larger package was twice the size of the smaller one. "Are you sure you didn't mess up? Why is Abigail's portion so much bigger?"
Was this some kind of personal vendetta?
"Different physiques, different treatments," Kingsley replied without missing a beat.
"I don't recall Abigail having any special physical condition," Helen said, raising an eyebrow.
"Anyway, I said she does. Who's the doctor here, you or me? Just trust me on this—it's fine!" Kingsley avoided her gaze.
Helen narrowed her eyes, feeling suspicious. She opened the bag and took a sniff, noticing some of the medicine was for stomach issues.
She had no idea what game he was playing, but at least it wasn't harmful, so she let it slide.
"I heard Base X recently developed a batch of new surveillance equipment," Chandler suddenly interjected. "So far, it hasn't hit the market."
"Wait." Kingsley raised his hand. "Don't even think about using me. I'm not officially with Destiny Group yet. Are you asking me to steal the organization's private stock for an outsider? I'm not betraying my own people.
"If you ever want to join Destiny Group, you're more than welcome. It's nothing to you, anyway," Chandler said with a smirk.
"No, I have principles. Betraying the organization? Not happening," Kingsley declared firmly.
"You've already set your sights on my son. Shouldn't you show some sincerity in return?" Chandler pulled out his trump card and exposed Kingsley's schemes.
Lincoln descended the stairs, his eyes shifting to Chandler for confirmation.
Chandler glanced at Kingsley, then back to his son. With a serious nod, he affirmed, "It's true."
Admitting defeat in tactics was a compliment to their intelligence.
"See? I didn't lie," Kingsley said triumphantly, looking smug.
Lincoln, ever composed, didn't bother to respond.
"Nana, come here," Helen called, pulling her into a hug. "Weren't you studying? Why did you come downstairs?"
