It was midday, and the sun was shining warmly.
At the villa to the right of the antique house, Kingsley had just finished showering and strolled over to the poolside, wrapped in a bath towel. He applied a face mask and lay down to sunbathe.
Before long, he drifted off to sleep.
In his daze, he saw a figure approaching him. When he opened his eyes again, it was Abigail.
He was startled and sat up abruptly. "What are you doing here?"
"I came to see you," Abigail said gently with a smile.
It was then that Kingsley realized something was off about her. She wasn't dressed in her usual men's clothes.
Her hair was loose, and she wore a lacy princess dress, looking sweet and charming—completely different from her usual self.
Kingsley swallowed hard, and his cheeks flushed for no apparent reason. "You… came to see me? Is something wrong?"
"Come here."
"Huh?"
"How can you hear me clearly if you don't come closer?"
Abigail's beautiful eyes sparkled as if holding some kind of magic. Kingsley felt his soul being drawn in. He walked over obediently and stopped in front of her.
"Closer," Abigail said, her voice playful and coaxing.
Kingsley didn't dare look at her, but he took another step closer. Before he could steady himself, Abigail suddenly kissed his cheek and pulled away.
Kingsley froze, his entire body tensed. "What… What do you mean by this?"
"You don't know what I mean? Do you want to be with me or not?" Abigail whispered in his ear.
Kingsley looked up and saw Abigail perched on a branch, one leg dangling lazily as she swayed back and forth.
"Looks like you've got the energy to climb trees now. Seems like you're almost fully recovered," Kingsley teased.
"Who said you're the only one allowed to climb trees?" Abigail stood up on the branch, narrowing her eyes as she sneered. "Worry about yourself, scoundrel. What kind of vulgar dreams are you having? Even the sparrow couldn't stand it!"
She was looking for Taylor but messed up the directions and ended up here just in time to see Kingsley lost in a daydream.
Kingsley grinned mischievously. "What if I said I dreamed about you? Would it still be vulgar?"
He wasn't lying, after all.
"You wouldn't dare! Don't forget my nickname. Having improper thoughts about this Ghost Pepper means you're asking for trouble." Abigail's eyes flashed with a warning.
Kingsley smirked. "Looks like you like the nickname I gave you."
