"If you have something to say, just say it," Helen said bluntly and annoyedly.

Zac looked at her and replied, "You never used to treat me this harshly. Helen, why should you and I be like this?"

She couldn't help but sneer at his comment. "Mr. Zac, I'm afraid you're exaggerating. My attitude used to be entirely dependent on your attitude. However, I realized that some things can't be taken at face value.

"It's just like you, always appearing indifferent. But in reality, it's quite the opposite. I am quite sorry that some things won't go as you wish."

He smirked with a hint of mischief in his eyes. "Helen, you're the one exaggerating. I'm just fighting for what I want. Since they're not willing to give it to me, why won't I fight for it?"

"You can fight for it all you want, but don't take advantage of me!" Her eyes narrowed in anger, then she continued, "Everything you did to me before, it was all an act, wasn't it?

"You wanted to use me to achieve your goals. I have to admit, your desperate move worked perfectly but it's such a pity that I'm not interested in you. What I detest the most is dishonesty.

"You can use whatever means you have to fight for it without fear of playing dirty, but I detest people who play with emotions to achieve their goals. This way of getting to their goal is despicable!"

Zac seemed to be caught red-handed in his schemes, but he didn't seem to care. He just smiled and said, "Helly, you've misunderstood me."

"Mr. Zac, I don't think we're that close, so you don't need to call me that," she denied firmly.

He shrugged, then asked, "How do you know I was pretending? Don't you trust that I actually like you?"

She quickly interrupted him, "Stop it. You clearly know some things are fake, but if you say it one too many times, even you would believe that it's real. The most brilliant lie in the world is when you manage to deceive yourself. So why bother?"

She stopped and asked, "Is there something else?"

He looked at her and remarked slowly, "Can't you choose to stand by my side? As long as you're willing to work with me, I can give you everything you want."

When she heard this, she turned around and looked at him. "You can't afford what I want, and I don't need you to give me anything. To me, you're just one of the many people in the crowd. From now on, I don't want to see you again."

With that, she didn't stay any longer. She quickly walked off and Zac watched her gradually fading into the distance. Somewhere in his heart, he felt an empty feeling.
