Kingsley briefly glanced at Chandler before turning his attention back to Helen. "Honestly, Mr. Newton wouldn't mind."

"I know," Helen replied, reaching for the clasp of her mask. "But I do. Everyone wants to look their best for the person they love, especially women. When you find someone special, you'll understand."

"Well, it doesn't seem like I'll ever get that chance."

Kingsley then held up the scar treatment and said, "Don't worry. While this won't promise a full rejuvenation, it will help tighten the skin and reduce wrinkles, much like a regular face mask. It will be beneficial, so there's no need to stress."

Helen took a deep breath, steeling herself. "Alright. Let's begin."

Kingsley's expression grew serious as he used a special tool to apply a thick layer of ointment to her face.

Then came the waiting—letting the treatment soak into her skin, allowing it to fully absorb.

An hour later, Kingsley began gently removing the ointment. When he reached the scarred areas, both of them held their breath, bracing for the outcome.

After a brief pause, Kingsley exhaled slowly and delicately removed the remaining layers. With a final swipe of the towel, the results became instantly clear.

It wasn't what he had hoped for.

Hearing Kingsley's sigh, Helen already knew what to expect. Though a flicker of disappointment swept through her, she grabbed a mirror and pretended to inspect herself with a bright smile.

Seeing her response, Kingsley sighed again. "Looks like I didn't quite measure up. Maybe I'm past my prime."

"Don't say that. This is just the first treatment. I can already see that the scars have lightened a lot. This shows you're on the right track," Helen reassured him.

"I'm glad you can stay so positive. Keep that mindset—anything is possible for you. And don't worry, since I promised to help restore your appearance, I'll see it through," Kingsley replied.

"Thanks for the encouragement," Helen said, putting her mask back on.

"No, we just got back from Kingsley's place," Helen replied.

"I see." Still annoyed with Kingsley, Abigail quickly shifted the topic. "By the way, my dad called earlier. He said he's planning to head back to Grand Cathay with all of you this time, and he doesn't plan on leaving again. He mentioned something about 'the bird returning to its nest.'"

"That's fantastic news! With everyone back in Grand Cathay, we won't have to worry about crossing continents just to meet. Staying connected will be so much easier," Helen said, feeling her mood brighten for the first time in a while.

Just then, Chandler's phone rang, and the group immediately fell silent. He placed the phone to his ear, and after a brief pause, he said quietly, "Got it."

As he ended the call, his expression shifted, his face growing more serious.

Sensing something was wrong, Helen asked with concern, "What's going on?"

"Zac escaped," Chandler said with a sigh. "The vehicle transporting him was overturned in an accident on the way to the airport. Larry was injured and knocked out cold, and by the time he regained consciousness, Zac had already vanished."
