"I'm not sure I understand," Jenson admitted, though a sense of relief washed over him. Despite the uncertainty, Germaine's words made it clear she trusted him.

"You'll understand soon enough," Germaine replied with a yawn as she headed toward the parking lot. "Someone in the group chat mentioned that Destiny Corporation's team has arrived. Let's take a break and let them handle things for now. If we keep pushing, we'll just burn out."

Jenson nodded and hurriedly opened the car door for her. He then walked around to the driver's side and started the engine.

After days of little sleep, a break was long overdue.

An hour soon passed.

When Jenson and Germaine returned to the house, Destiny Corporation's reinforcements had just arrived. Graham and Laura were there, along with the rest of the staff, who were less critical to the operation.

Jenson ushered Graham and Laura inside, leaving the remaining team members outside to secure the perimeter and rest.

"Aside from the core team maintaining operations, Destiny Corporation has mobilized nearly all of its personnel," Graham briefed them as he walked. "Half are undercover in Miravell, and the rest are stationed at key airports and train terminals. I'm confident we'll track down Mrs. Newton soon."

Graham's expertise was only second to Chandler's, so Jenson had no objections. He nodded in approval and said, "We're counting on you."

Before he could say anything else, the sound of heavy footsteps approached from the doorway. Everyone turned to see James helping Reggie inside.

Reggie's leg was heavily bandaged, blood seeping through the layers of gauze. Both men were covered in dirt, looking completely disheveled.

Laura's usual calm demeanor faltered for a moment, her brow furrowing in concern.

"What happened?" Jenson asked, stepping forward to support Reggie.

"We were searching north through the forest, trying to locate the Holland family's new hideout," James began, his face tinged with guilt. "Unfortunately, we ran into an ambush in a valley.

"Reggie pushed me out of the way when a boulder came loose, but his leg got crushed in the process. About a third of our team was injured, and the losses were severe."

As soon as Reggie spoke, all eyes turned to Kingsley. His ties to Base X made him an obvious suspect, and given the situation, the implications were impossible to ignore.

James had hesitated earlier, caught between his concern for Reggie's injury and the potential fallout of his words.

Reggie, however, had no such reservations. His loyalty to the organization was absolute, and he spoke without a moment's hesitation.

Kingsley stood with his arms crossed, his expression unwavering under the intensity of their stares. "What's the matter? Are you all suspecting me too?"

"Did you just say 'too'?" Jenson asked.

"When Zac escaped, Abigail gave me the same look you're all giving me now." Kingsley lowered his gaze, letting his eyes sweep over the room.
