Abigail rolled her eyes. "Maybe you should just go ahead and die. At least then, you wouldn't have to worry about anything."

As she spoke, she purposefully loosened her grip, causing Stanson to drop a few more inches. His panicked scream pierced the air, intensifying the surrounding chaos.

Amid the commotion, the man who had tried to ambush her earlier lunged again. Abigail moved swiftly, landing a decisive kick to his chest that knocked him off balance.

Glancing over her shoulder, she noticed the man was wearing a hat and a mask, hiding his identity. Despite the blow, he seemed to recover quickly.

Seeing him preparing to rise and attack again, Abigail tightened her grip on Stanson, determined to pull him up first before confronting the threat.

Nonetheless, Stanson's large frame and her awkward position made it difficult to muster the strength needed. While she managed to shift him a little, the effort was slow and draining.

Taking advantage of the brief distraction, the man lunged at Abigail, wrapping an arm around her neck and thrusting a knife toward her chest.

"Die!" he shouted.

The knife glinted in the light, its sharp edge a blinding menace. Abigail freed one hand from Stanson and seized the man's arm, preparing to execute a shoulder throw to bring him down.

It was a high-stakes maneuver—any misstep, and Stanson would slip from her grasp, plunging into the ground.

Just as Abigail was about to execute the throw, Hugo charged into the scene, his voice booming, "What the hell do you think you're doing? Drop the knife!"
