Chandler immediately understood Helen's implication—Colin had no intention of harming her or the child she carried, at least not for now.

With that knowledge, he knew he could proceed without hesitation.

Just as Chandler was about to ask more, Colin abruptly snatched the phone from his hand. "You've confirmed what you needed. Enough with the small talk."

Chandler shot him a glare, frustration and anger flickering in his eyes.

Ignoring him, Colin settled into the chair behind him, crossing his legs.

One hand rested on the armrest, supporting his forehead, while the other gently swirled the wine in his glass. His gaze lingered on the rippling red liquid as he spoke. "There's a rumor going around that Chandler's dead. What do you think? Do you believe it?"

"I'm standing right in front of you. What do you think?" Chandler thought to himself.

"I suppose you don't believe it," Chandler said aloud, sarcasm thick in his voice. "Mr. Newton is invincible. There's no one who could take him down."

Unmoved, Colin leaned forward, pointing a finger at Chandler. "That's exactly what I expected you'd say. So why don't we settle this once and for all? You can confirm it yourself."

After a moment, Colin turned toward the door and called out, "Bring him in!"

As soon as the words left his lips, a group of men entered and ushered a man into the room, forcing him to kneel on the floor.

Though the man's eyes were blindfolded and his mouth sealed with tape, Chandler immediately recognized him by his attire and facial features. It was Zac—or rather, Jenson, disguised as Zac.

"Impressive. That was fast," Chandler mused inwardly.

One of the guards stepped forward and tore the tape from Jenson's mouth. As soon as he could speak, Jenson lashed out in a fit of fury.

"Who the hell are you people? Let me go now! I've killed Chandler, and do you really think I won't do the same to you? Are you all looking to die?"

Colin's eyelids flickered downward, his gaze slowly drifting toward Chandler. "I've brought you the killer… Don't you have something to ask him?"

Chandler understood exactly what Colin was doing. It was a test—Colin was using him to confirm the truth.

Jenson soon collapsed to the floor, his face battered and bruised, but Chandler showed no sign of stopping.

The next time something like this came up, he swore he would refuse, even if it meant facing death.
