As Helen watched Chandler's departing figure, a blend of emotions seemed to flicker in her eyes. However, she hid it so well that those around her didn't seem to notice it.

After dinner, Helen, Charlie, and Sylvia took a stroll in the yard. However, it was obvious that Helen seemed somewhat absent-minded. Charlie and Sylvia exchanged glances, and then Sylvia asked, "Helen, do you not want to go back?"

Helen felt like her emotions had been unexpectedly exposed by Sylvia's question. She pursed her lips and kept quiet.

Sylvia signaled to Charlie with her eyes. He stretched lazily and then said, "It's getting cold, I'll go get a jacket." With that, he went back inside.

However, as soon as he went upstairs, he coincidentally bumped into Chandler. "Mr. Charlie, would you like to play a game of chess together?" Chandler asked.

Charlie smiled widely and replied, "Sure. I haven't played chess in a long time."

Chandler nodded and took him to the chess room. Meanwhile, in the yard, Sylvia pulled Helen aside for a private conversation.

"Helen, be honest with me. Is something bothering you?" Sylvia asked.

Helen looked at her and held her arm. "Grandma, can I stay here for a while longer?"

Sylvia looked at her with a smile and asked, "Is it because of Chandler?"

Although Helen was surprised by Sylvia's keen observation, she had no intention of hiding it too. "Grandma, I might have some feelings for him." With that one simple sentence, Helen seemingly laid her feelings bare.

Sylvia felt delighted by Helen's declaration, but she didn't show it on her face. "My dear Helen, have you thought this through? Or is it just a momentary impulse?"

Helen took a deep breath. "Grandma, I'm not sure if it's truly from the heart or just an infatuation. That's why I want to stay and figure out my true feelings. You've always been concerned about my future, right? This time, I want to make my own decisions."

Sylvia knew Helen had always been decisive, so she held her hand and said, "I believe in your judgment, but I must remind you that girls are often blind in the face of love. There might be times when you'll feel at a loss in love. I hope you can handle it properly, not to be blind, nor to give your heart away easily."

Helen nodded. "I understand, Grandma."

Seeing this, Sylvia sighed. "If you really want to stay, I won't stop you. But I have one request."

With that, she whispered something into Helen's ears. Helen blinked her eyes, then looked at Sylvia, nodding firmly.

Sylvia felt relieved. "You're all grown up now. Well then, you make your own decisions. No matter what, Charlie and I will always be your strongest support."

Helen hugged her tightly. "Grandma, having you both is truly wonderful."

Meanwhile, in the chess room upstairs, Charlie and Chandler were playing chess. Both were skilled players, neither giving an inch nor giving to the other.

His single sentence gave Charlie the affirmation he was looking for, and he nodded in agreement. "Yes, she has never let us worry, whether it's about her studies or her life. She's very independent, though sometimes it makes us worry.

"But Sylvia and I are getting older, and we don't know how much longer we can be with her. So, we hope that in the future, there will be someone who can take care of her in our place."

With the conversation reaching this point, Charlie's intentions were clear about what he wanted. At this moment, Chandler, who had been undecided up until now, also settled down.

"Mr. Charlie, it's your turn…" Chandler reminded him. When Charlie saw no reaction from Chandler, he couldn't guess what Chandler was thinking.

Chandler seemed focused on the chessboard, and it was uncertain whether or not he heard Charlie's words.

Charlie looked back at the chess board, seemingly feeling a bit of disappointment in his heart.

But then, Chandler spoke up, "Helen is a good girl. I wonder if it's possible to let her continue staying here."

After saying this, he felt a bit nervous. He had never felt a single emotion in the face of projects worth billions. But now, he was somewhat anxious.

There was no hint of joy on Charlie's face, only seriousness as he looked at Chandler. "Are you serious? This is not a joke."
