Carles entered the office again and realized the atmosphere inside felt different. "Mr. Chandler, are you alright now?"

Chandler looked up at him and tapped on the table. Carles was nervous upon seeing it. "Mr. Chandler, if there's something on your mind, just tell me. I'm getting chills from how you're acting now."

"You've been with me for some years, right?" Chandler asked.

Carles had a bad feeling. "Mr. Chandler, are you firing me? Please tell me if I did something wrong. I'll amend it right away!"

Seeing how he was acting, Chandler couldn't help messing with him. "Amend? How? I was just thinking you've been working for me for so long and never had a chance to take a nice rest. I was planning on letting you take a break, but…"

When Carles heard about the break, he was excited.

"Are you serious, Mr. Chandler? I'm willing to take it!" Charles said excitedly.

"But it seems to me that you prefer working." When Chandler said that casually, Carles felt like he was about to cry.

"So, does that mean you don't love your job anymore?" Chandler asked.

Chandler chuckled. "Alright. I'm not going to tease you anymore. You've done a great job this time, so I've decided to double your pay this month. I'm also giving you half a month of paid leave."

Carles thought he had misheard Chandler, and he pinched himself. He felt the pain, and it was all real.
