Helen responded with a smile. If it weren't for the others present, she would have liked to take this opportunity to speak frankly with Chandler. But with so many people around, she found it best to take things one step at a time.

Alex was astute and noticed Chandler's apparent interest in Helen, so he energetically steered the conversation toward the two of them. Meanwhile, Taylor cleverly defused the awkward atmosphere.

"Ms. Hannah, you have a very nice voice and have done well in the industry. Why did you choose to retire?"

Helen raised her gaze to look at him. Their eyes met, and both seemed to have been by something. She was the first to avert her eyes.

The sensation just now was too familiar. Chandler felt that her gaze was the same as the one Helen would give him. He furrowed his brow and wondered why he always saw shades of Helen in Hailey. Was there some connection between them?

Upon further thought, he realized that they both shared the surname Spencer. Could they be related?

Helen then answered his question. "I retired before because I injured my throat. I thought I'd never sing again, so I chose to retire at an opportune moment.

"But later, after treatment, my voice recovered. However, I didn't want to return to this circle, so I lost interest.

"This time, I'm helping a friend. She lost her memory but used to love listening to my music. So, I want to see if my music can awaken that lost memory."

She realized she had spoken without thinking and regretted it immediately. Why did she have to bring up herself?

But deep down, she hoped to hear Chandler's perspective of her from another person's standpoint.

"Ms. Hailey, I suspect you have mind-reading abilities. The person I mentioned having some resemblance to you is indeed my fiancee. She's someone I'm very comfortable with."

Helen was surprised by his response. Just as she was about to say something, the door to the private room opened, and Taylor and Alex walked in.

"Ms. Hannah, Mr. Chandler! What are you talking about?"

"Nothing much. We're just casually chatting."
