Priscilla chuckled. "Alright. You can go with Chandler."

After she left, Chandler looked at Helen and asked, "I thought you weren't interested in the event. Why do you want to go now?"

Helen told him the truth. "Well, she said Uncle Wyatt would be there too! I haven't seen him in a long time, so I want to meet him!"

Chandler thought about what Priscilla had said earlier. He wondered how his mother would react after finding out that the man she had been trying to reach was actually Helen's godfather.

He didn't wait for Priscilla to say anything before he left with Helen. They arrived at the resting area, and Helen thought it was weird. "What are you doing?"

Chandler gazed into her eyes and hugged her. Then, he whispered in her ear, "Don't listen to my mom and don't care about what other people think of us. I'm here for you! No matter what, I'll always be by your side."

Helen nodded gently, and all the unhappy thoughts on her mind earlier were gone.

"I understand. You don't have to be so nervous. Families like yours care about marrying people that match their status, and it's normal. Your mom is only unsatisfied with me because she thinks my family isn't worthy of you. But I think that as long as we love each other, nothing else matters."
