As they walked around the room, Melody explained, "This electronic watch is for you. It's a popular style among girls your age. I bought two colors so that you can mix and match them.

"I also bought you a piano. You've always been drawn to music since you were little. I had a feeling you'd excel in it someday, so I brought the best piano from the music store just for you.

"Isn't this outfit adorable? I thought it would suit you perfectly."

Melody continued to show her all the items in the room. The more Helen listened, the more bittersweet she felt.

Each item inside the room carried a mother's love for her child. Yet, Helen felt like a thief. It was as if she were taking something that wasn't rightfully hers.

She opened her mouth to say something. "Mrs. Boston, I…"

"Come here, Bee!" Melody grabbed Helen's hand and guided her to a cabinet. She opened the drawer, and inside it was a decorative box.

Melody opened it and took out a gold bracelet with intricate designs. She slipped it onto Helen's wrist. "It looks so lovely on you!"

Helen tried to remove it, but Melody stopped her. "It looks good on you. Don't take it off."

"But… Mrs. Boston! I can't accept your gifts." Helen removed the bracelet and placed it back inside the box. She felt that agreeing to Faye's request was a mistake, and now she was starting to regret it.

"Mrs. Boston, I'm sorry," said Helen.

"No need for apologies. If these aren't to your liking, we can go shopping and find something you love." Melody didn't seem upset. She simply put away the decorative box and returned it to its place.

After leaving the Boston Manor and returning to the dormitory, Helen's spirits were low.

As she exited the car, Wanda stopped her. "Ms. Spencer, this is payment from Ms. Faye for your hard work today." She handed Helen a bag containing two stacks of fresh bills.

"Ms. Clarke, what do you mean by this?" asked Helen.

Wanda said, "Ms. Faye appreciates your efforts today and may need your help again in the future. Please accept it.
