At six in the evening, Chandler parked his car in the parking lot outside the school and walked Helen back to her dormitory.
After the time spent with each other over the weekend, the two of them grew much closer than before. They walked shoulder to shoulder, holding hands loosely but firmly.
It seemed like they were inseparable. Chandler enjoyed these leisurely moments. Although he was always busy, Helen's life also seemed like a top, always spinning.
It seemed like this was the only weekend he got her to himself entirely. He didn't know how long he had to wait until the next time. While he was lost in thought, Helen suddenly stopped and asked, "I brought my suitcase down, right?"
Chandler smiled helplessly. When they got out of the car, they were only holding hands and had definitely forgotten to grab her suitcase.
He reluctantly let go of her hand and rubbed her nose. "Wait by the door, I'll go get it for you."
With that, he turned around and walked back to the parking lot. Helen stood there, watching as his figure disappeared around the corner. She decided to continue walking as well.
As soon as she stepped past the archway of the dormitory, there was a loud pop, and the sound of confetti poppers rang out from all directions. Soon, confetti and ribbons fell from the sky and onto her.
"Congratulations, Helen!"
"Welcome back, Helen the Genius!"
"Helen, you're so amazing! I admire you so much!"
"That's a little scary!" someone chimed in.
Callie was always a straightforward person. She had a one-track mind and she took everything seriously. "Scary? How is that scary? I just want everyone to know that when I make friends, I look at strengths, not appearances.
"Some people may look good but don't have talents. Some people may seem ordinary, but they're really talented!"
Helen smiled wryly and reminded her, "That's called not judging a book by its cover!"
Callie was stunned but then laughed awkwardly. She scratched the back of her head and then said loudly, "Right, don't judge a book by its cover; the ocean is deeper than it seems!"
