With Esmond's statement, it was clear that Helen held a position not to be underestimated in the Newton household.

It would be beneficial for them to have further interactions with her.

"Alright, Helen. Now that it's all resolved, let's all go in," Esmond suggested, guiding Helen back to the hall.

He had left a sliver of dignity for the Leonard family. Margaret's father understood Esmond's intentions.

After everyone had left, he turned to Margaret with a stern look. "Go home now and stop embarrassing yourself here."

"Dad!" Margaret protested, feeling that this was unfair.

Why was her father not defending her and treating her this way?

He didn't respond to her plea. He wiped the sweat from his forehead and followed the crowd into the hall.

Margaret's little episode didn't cause much of a stir.

After entering the hall with Esmond, Helen found that many people started approaching her to make connections. She knew this was out of respect for Esmond's protection of her.

Her gaze casually swept over the crowd and landed on Chandler. She couldn't help but look at him a bit longer as she recalled his words from earlier.

Suddenly, Chandler turned his gaze her way. Their gazes locked for a while before Helen quickly broke eye contact.

But in the next instance, she found that Chandler had started making his way towards her.

This took Helen by surprise. She wanted to leave but found herself rooted to the spot.

Helen silently scoffed. Her dearest Taylor had never shown any deceit in all the years she'd known him. Of course, she kept these thoughts to herself.

She just acknowledged with a nod, appearing to take his advice seriously.

At that moment, Tyrone approached.

He greeted Chandler first, "Chandler!"

Then, somewhat sheepishly, he turned to Helen. "I'm sorry about earlier. I judged you unfairly without knowing the full story."

Helen accepted his apology gracefully. "It's okay. I just hope something like this doesn't happen again."
