"It's that bitch Helen, isn't it!"

The shrill reproach echoed in Chandler's ears. His smile faded, and his expression turned frigid.

"Mom, she's my fiancée and your future daughter-in-law. As an elder, how can you speak of her that way?" Chandler frowned in displeasure.

Priscilla stepped in, her high heels clicking as she did, and smiled coldly. "If she can help you, then it's fine. But what can she do for you? Last night at the gala, you foolishly lost your temper over her!"
