Before Helen could say more, the dial tone filled the receiver. Glancing at her phone, she saw that Chandler had already hung up.

As she stared at the home screen, Helen's recently calmed demeanor gave way to renewed frustration.

Throughout the journey to the hospital, Samantha clung to her, crying incessantly. Helen's mind buzzed with worry until Chandler's call came in. His voice seemed to work like magic, significantly easing her anxiety.

"Who is the patient's family?" the doctor asked.

Helen's focus snapped back, prompting her to rise and approach him. "I'm her classmate," she said. "Doctor, how is she?"

"The emergency treatment was successful, and the baby is stable. However, we advise keeping her under observation in the hospital for two days. Please arrange for her family to complete the admission procedures," the doctor explained.

"Understood. Thank you, doctor," Helen acknowledged.

"You're welcome," the doctor replied before stepping away.

Shortly afterward, Samantha was wheeled out by a nurse and taken to a general ward.

After ensuring the IV drip was secure, the nurse urged Helen to complete the admission procedures. "Bed space is limited right now, so please ensure her family handles the paperwork promptly."

Helen nodded earnestly, a gentle smile gracing her lips as she walked alongside the nurse.

She wasted no time in asking for Samantha's family's contact information. "I need to inform your family. Could you please give me their phone number? I'll make the call for you."

Upon reaching the ground floor, Helen bumped into Chandler, who had rushed over.

"You're here at the right moment. I—"

"I'm just relieved everything's okay."

Helen was on the brink of voicing her frustrations, but just as the words were about to escape her lips, Chandler enveloped her in a tight hug, causing her to hold them back.
