Just as Rachel reached home and sat down, Vernon came in after her.

She returned to his husband's house to avoid Vernon, so when she saw Vernon and the butler coming in, she got up to go upstairs.

"Stop right there," Vernon called out to her in a deep voice.

Rachel was still furious about the matter with Helen. She paused but didn't turn back, complaining in grievance, "Didn't you want to cut ties with me? So why do you still come here?"

Vernon was disappointed to see her being so ignorant.

"You're a mother, but you're still so immature. If I didn't say that, do you think you can come back unscathed?" Vernon said as he walked to the sofa and sat down, sighing.

He had been going around the whole day and was exhausted.

"Yes, I'm not as smart, but I only know one thing. The future successors of the Lindvall family must not go to jail. No matter how much it costs, I must save them both out."

Rachel was never afraid of anyone, and she was not some ignorant woman from the countryside. She knew that Chad's case had a low chance of winning, but it was not to the extent of imprisonment.

"I just don't get it." Rachel turned around and walked up to him, full of confusion. "What's so scary about Chandler? I've apologized. Will they really turn against us if I save Ronald and Chad?"

"You know nothing! The Newton family is not scary, but the big shot beside him." Vernon could only spill the beans since the matter was out of hand.

Looking at her panicking, Vernon sighed and ordered the butler in a low voice, "Find Rachel a good orthopedic specialist and get the financial director of the company over. Ask him to bring a few people over to perform an assessment on the company's assets."

"Alright," the butler responded politely. After a slight pause, he asked, "Are you really going to give half of your assets to Ms. Spencer?"

Vernon slowly leaned back against the sofa, closed his eyes, and took a rest. He only muttered after some time, "I can only use the money to prevent a calamity. I hope this is already the worst case scenario."

If Helen held a grudge against the Lindvall family, then even he wouldn't be able to guarantee that he could save the whole family.
