The cold glint of the acupuncture needle sent a shiver down Kiara's spine. She quickly averted her gaze, her voice quivering as she asked, "What are you doing?"

Helen arched an eyebrow. "What am I doing? As a homewrecker, I have a role to play. You said it yourself—anyone who gets involved with me won't have a happy ending. So why should you be an exception?"

"That's ridiculous!" Kiara recoiled, trying to distance herself from the needle. "We have nothing to do with each other. Why should I be dragged into this?"

Helen pressed the needle lightly against Kiara's neck, tracing the delicate curve of her collarbone.

"What do you mean we have nothing to do with each other? Chandler is my man, and you have feelings for him. Isn't that enough of a connection between us?"

As Helen's words faded, she swiftly plunged the acupuncture needle deep into the base of Kiara's neck.
