When she returned home, Chandler also happened to be back, and they met at the door.
"Where have you been?" Chandler asked.
"I went to buy some medicinal herbs," Helen made up an excuse.
"Medicinal herbs?" Chandler gazed at Ambrose and Shawn, who were empty-handed behind her. He smiled subtly and did not expose her. "Let's go in."
As he spoke, he changed his direction and walked straight into Helen's house.
Just as they walked in, they saw Larry in the yard with a few people in police uniform.
When Larry saw them coming in, he went straight to Helen. "I'm sorry, Ms. Spencer. You have to come with us."
Chandler frowned. "Larry, what's the matter?"
"I'm sorry, Mr. Newton. It happened too suddenly, so I didn't get to inform you in advance." Larry explained formally, "Three authoritative physics professors of the University of Glendale died early this morning.
"Ms. Spencer's notes were found at the scene. As the sole suspect, she must cooperate with our investigation."
"Your operational skill still has a lot of room for improvement," Chandler said in an unfriendly manner. "Didn't anyone tell you that Helen hasn't been to class lately?"
"Mr. Newton, as you know, her absence from class doesn't imply that she didn't go to the university," Larry refuted calmly.
"Everyone here, except you, can prove that Helen was with us when the death you mentioned occurred," said Chandler.
"What a coincidence." Larry seemed to have expected Chandler to say that as he looked at Helen with a fake smile.
"You have an alibi, and the police have also found a witness who can prove that Helen was at the scene."
"You brat, look carefully before you talk!" Ambrose's voice was gruff and threatening.
As he looked up at Ambrose, Owen's eyes had a calmness that was different from that of his peers.
"Eagle, are you intimidating the witness?" Larry reprimanded.
"That's not intimidation. I'm just helping him to sort out his memories." Ambrose shrugged, appearing completely unbothered.
"One more word from you, and I'll take you back right in front of Mr. Newton," Larry warned seriously.
Only then did Ambrose awkwardly kick off a pebble at his feet and move aside to vent his frustration.
Helen looked at Owen's face and recalled the confrontation at the office last time. This guy was obviously trying to get on her bad side on purpose. "Are you sure you saw my face clearly?"
