"Don't even think about it," Chandler retorted, pulling her close and claiming her lips in a passionate kiss.

For a fleeting instant, Helen's mind flashed with Otto's face, leaving her momentarily disoriented. Despite the intrusion, she quickly refocused on Chandler, diving back into the kiss with renewed fervor.

As their breaths grew heavy, they reluctantly pulled apart. With their foreheads touching and their arms tightly entwined, they appeared like a couple reunited after a long separation.

As Jenson turned the corner, he spotted Helen and Chandler locked in an embrace. "Am I interrupting something?" he asked, his tone tinged with resignation.

Chandler pulled away from Helen and turned to face Jenson. "What's the matter?"

"Someone's here to see Helen," Jenson replied.

"Who is it?" Helen asked, surprised by the early visitor.

"It's Mr. Hart from yesterday's event," Jenson replied. "He's here to give you his verdict."

"Looks like he couldn't wait," Helen said with a teasing smile.

"Go on ahead," Chandler remarked. "I'll wait for you in the restaurant."

"Okay, I'll be right back," Helen replied.

With that, she followed Jenson downstairs to meet Kendrick.

In the hotel lobby, Kendrick fidgeted nervously on the sofa. When he saw Helen, he quickly stood up to greet her. "Good day, Ms. Spencer."

"Please, have a seat, Mr. Hart. You don't need to be so formal with me," Helen replied.

Once they were both seated, Jenson quietly stepped aside to give them some privacy.

"Is something wrong, Ms. Spencer?" Kendrick asked, noticing her troubled expression.

Helen pushed the contract back and replied, "I'm afraid I can't be publicly associated with the company. I'll need to operate from behind the scenes."

As an experienced businessman, Kendrick was well aware that the public owner and the true decision-maker of a business often weren't the same person.

He gave her a nod and teased, "So, are you intending to steer things from behind the curtain?"
