Helen's cheeks grew even warmer. Taking a deep breath, she swiftly changed the subject. "Enough with the sweet talk. Have you wrapped things up over there? I'm almost finished here. Do you need me to come over?"

"It's fine," Chandler replied. "I'm nearly done. Let's meet up in Aguilisco."

"Alright, take care of what you need to," Helen said with a casual shrug.

Suddenly, a thought crossed her mind. Shifting from her usual gentle demeanor, she added firmly, "But don't even think about flirting with anyone while you're out there, okay?"

Chandler was briefly taken aback, but as he caught on, his smile broadened. "Understood. I'll get Carles to make a sign that says 'Helen Spencer's' and wear it around my neck wherever I go. How does that sound?"

Helen couldn't help but chuckle at his playful remark. "In that case, you'd just look like a pet dog. Only dogs need name tags."

"I'm not a dog, but I am yours," Chandler replied, his tone softening as he slowed his pace. "If I had a name tag, no one would dare make a move. They'd know to alert you so you could come and take me home."

From down the corridor, Laura watched his broad, toothy smile with a puzzled frown.

"Here he goes again, stirring up trouble and then trying to make up for it with charm," she thought.

And, of course, that "trouble" was clearly of his own making; Laura knew well that he'd brought it upon himself by going to Helen.

Laura frowned in disapproval, wondering if Chandler had some sort of masochistic tendency.

Charmed by his playful banter, Helen decided to play along. "Alright then, I'll buy a thick rope and keep you tied to me forever."

Chandler stopped in his tracks, his voice smooth as silk. "If that were the case, I'd be thrilled."

He paused for a moment before adding, "Helly, I can't wait to spend my whole life with you."

Helen bit her lip, her face flushing. "Okay, okay, I get it. Given how heartfelt you are, I promise I won't be swayed no matter what temptation comes my way."

"Okay."

With that, Chandler hung up. As he slipped his phone back into his pocket, his smile disappeared.

"Looks like you were flirting with the future Mrs. Sheridan again, huh?" Laura teased.

Chandler glanced at her, a faint smile tugging at his lips. He returned to being Otto and said, "Calling her the future Mrs. Sheridan feels a bit awkward. Just 'Mrs. Sheridan' will do—there won't be any other candidates for that role."

"Got it. I'll address her as Mrs. Sheridan when I see her at the gemstone auction later," Laura said.

He couldn't help but chuckle. "Unless you're trying to get me into serious trouble."

He then pulled aside the fabric that had been covering his wound, revealing a stain of dried blood on his clothing.
