After wrapping herself securely in her bathrobe, Danielle bent down to pick up the shower gel and return it to its place. She then gathered up her used clothes before finally leaving the bathroom.
She never re wore used underwear, so beneath the bathrobe, she was bare. And now, she wasn’t entirely sure if she could trust herself not to interrupt
Ross later.
Danielle wondered, ‘Maybe we should sleep separately tonight. After all, there are plenty of guest rooms on the third floor.
With this thought in mind, she opened the door. Ross was still there, leaning against the wall. As she stepped out, his gaze immediately fell upon her.
“All done,” said Danielle.
“Mhm,” Ross replied, nodding. Then, he stepped forward, effortlessly lifted her into his arms, and carried her straight to bed.
Danielle hesitated. “Earlier, you…”
“I saw,” Ross replied.
Danielle’s lips curved into a slow, teasing smile as she leaned in close, her breath warm against his ear. “Did you like what you saw?”
That single whisper sent a flicker through Ross‘ eyes–deep, intense, barely restrained. With a hoarse voice, he said, “I do.”
Overjoyed, Danielle’s heart raced. She was about to say something when Ross interrupted her, “I’m going to shower.” Then, he added softly, “Don’t wait up. Go to sleep first.”
She hadn’t really planned on saying anything important. She just wanted to suggest sleeping in separate rooms before things got too heated. But Ross had already made his exit.
“Forget it. I’ll just tell him when he comes out,‘ Danielle thought.
Ross finished his shower quickly, stepping out of the bathroom in about ten minutes.
Danielle peeked out from beneath the blanket, heart thumping faster at the sight of him. She couldn’t help tightening her grip on the covers.
“You’re still up?” he asked.
Danielle arched a brow and shot him a playful look. “If you were in my place, could you sleep?”
Ross stared at her intently for three seconds before finally relenting. “I thought if you were asleep, I’d leave you be. But you’re awake…”
Danielle began, “I just wanted to wait for you to come out and let you know I was going to sleep in the next-”
Before she could finish speaking, Ross leaned in abruptly and captured her lips in a sudden kiss.
After a lingering kiss, he finally pulled back, his usually gentle voice now low with desire. “Danielle, I want to fall asleep holding you. I don’t usually sleep well, but that night at the hospital, I slept soundly with you.”
Danielle panted softly. “Climb into the bed then!
Ross slipped under the covers and pulled Danielle into his arms, holding her tight against him. His chin rested against her forehead, then slowly drifted down, his breath warm as it brushed along her neck. He murmured, “Good night.”

“Night.” Danielle replied softly. She tried to roll over, but with her leg in a cast, the movement was slow and awkward. Their bodies were already pressed close, and her bent knee accidentally bumped into a hard part of him.
