Chapter 171: Jail is the safest place for him right now

Just as they stepped out of the car, they froze. Three cop cars drove into the street, their lights flashing and sirens blaring. There were two regular patrol cars and one black SUV with flashing lights on the roof. Han Zhan’s eyes widened in surprise. "They beat us to it. How is that possible?"

Han Xin’s expression darkened. "Let’s go back," he said, getting back into the car. Han Zhan nodded, following suit. Their car drove off just as a man stepped out of the black SUV, dressed in a leather jacket with a badge clipped to his belt. The street was now a flurry of activity, the arrival of the police adding a new layer of tension to the unfolding drama.

Xiang Yu had just gotten rid of the three troublemakers and Sister Meng when the wail of sirens pierced the air. Three cop cars screeched to a halt in front of the tattoo parlour, their lights flashing ominously. Mo Mo’s face turned pale with fear. "Boss Yu, what’s happening? They couldn’t have reported the incident that fast."

Xiang Yu shook his head seeming unbothered. "It’s not them. They wouldn’t dare report to the police. They aren’t stupid." He heard the door at the back of the store creak open and felt a surge of worry. Lian and Mei couldn’t be seen. "Li Rui, tell the girls to stay with Little Bai obediently."

Li Rui nodded and hurried to the back, intercepting Lian and Mei before they could come to the front. Two men entered the parlour, their semi-formal attire and badges giving them an air of relaxed authority. Xiang Yu forced a smile. "Good morning, officers. How may I help you?"

The one in the leather jacket sauntered over, leaning casually against the counter. His partner crouched down, inspecting the blood on the floor. He rubbed his fingertips together, then brought them to his nose, sniffing. "Special agent Lu, there is blood," he said, his gaze locking onto Xiang Yu with a menacing intensity.

Agent Lu straightened, his eyes narrowing. "Committed any murders lately?" he asked as he touched the neatly arranged tattoo aftercare pamphlets.

Xiang Yu chuckled; his voice devoid of emotion. "You must be joking. This is a tattoo parlour. Accidents happen all the time."

The two agents exchanged a glance. Agent Lu’s lips curled into a smirk. "Is that so? How about you tell us all about it over a cup of tea down at the station?"

Xiang Yu’s smile didn’t waver, but his eyes hardened. "So, you came to my tattoo parlour to waste taxpayer money on a fairly common little accident in this small business owner’s shop, is that it?" His voice dripped with sarcasm.

The agent’s smiles vanished. The one behind Agent Lu suddenly smacked his own face hard, a loud crack echoing through the room. Agent Lu’s expression darkened. "You are under arrest for assaulting an agent."

Xiang Yu’s colleagues erupted in protest, defending him vehemently. "He didn’t even touch him!" they shouted. Xiang Yu raised his hand, signalling them to stop. His calm, nonchalant attitude only infuriated Agent Lu further, especially when Xiang Yu stretched out his hands, ready to be cuffed.
