Han Xin’s mind was racing. He couldn’t shake the feeling that he had crossed an invisible line, one that Xiang Yu had drawn without him noticing.

Han Xin followed him out, his gaze fixed intently on Xiang Yu. As they passed the reception, Xiang Yu said to Little Bai, "Don’t forget to pick up the twins from school."

"Okay, brother," Little Bai replied.

Han Zhan ruffled Little Bai’s hair and said, "Such a helpful little helper."

Little Bai, "...".

Xiang Yu waved at Qin Wu, who smiled and waved back, only to be met by Han Xin’s impassive expression. Qin Wu’s hand slowly fell as he watched them exit through the glass doors and enter the car. Han Zhan followed after his cousin and left the tattoo parlour. The three black cars parked outside drove away.

Qin Wu turned to Little Bai and asked, "Is that Xiang Yu’s boyfriend?"

Little Bai glanced at Qin Wu and said, "Xiang Yu doesn’t have a boyfriend. From my knowledge, he likes women."

Qin Wu was extremely confused. "What about the StarMatch app? I matched seventy per cent compatibility with him."

Little Bai was genuinely surprised. He hadn’t thought Qin Wu approached Xiang Yu because of the app. "It was the twins who set up the app on Xiang Yu’s phone," Little Bai explained.

Qin Wu felt a pang of disappointment. His love, which hadn’t even sprouted, felt as though it had long died. He sighed, looking down at the pamphlet with Xiang Yu’s number circled on the back. The hope that had flickered within him was now a dim ember, overshadowed by the reality of the situation. Little Bai watched him with a mix of sympathy and curiosity, wondering what had driven Qin Wu to seek out Xiang Yu in the first place.

A line of ten vehicles drove into the Die clan estate, the tension palpable as the security guards nervously clutched their weapons. The doors of the cars opened, and men dressed in suits stepped out with practised precision. The dragon head exited his car, fixing his cufflinks with a casual elegance. "Isn’t it a good day to wreak havoc?" he remarked, a smirk playing on his lips.

His assistant draped the dragon head’s suit jacket over his shoulders and replied, "Yes, indeed."

A group of people entered the mansion, led by the nervous family butler. Inside the living room, the main Die family members were gathered, with the Die patriarch, Die Liang, sitting in the main seat. The dragon head smirked and said, "Aren’t you going to greet me, Die Liang?"

That’s right, the Die patriarch was also named Die Liang, just like his illegitimate son whom he kept outside the family. Die Liang snorted and remained stubbornly seated. The other Die family members were visibly nervous. They knew it was only right to stand up and greet the dragon head, but they couldn’t go against the patriarch. Everyone was ill at ease, all except the middle-aged woman with a stern face and a domineering aura.

She took a sip of whiskey and said, "Master Han, you dare step into my home with an army? You surely are tired of living."

This woman was the matriarch of the Die clan, but she was also the only daughter of the former dragon head of the Yee clan. Her name was Yee Ming. She was as ruthless as her father, if not worse. Patriarch Yee had forced her into marriage, knowing her ambitions to take over the Yee clan. He was more concerned with protecting his son’s position as the heir, so he had imposed this marriage on her.

Master Han’s eyes flickered with amusement as he regarded Yee Ming. "Yee Ming, always a pleasure," he said, his tone dripping with sarcasm. "I see your hospitality hasn’t improved."
