AN: Sorry, one Chapter today. I am so tired. I will make it up soon. Happy reading.
Agent Lu’s eyes narrowed, suspicion flickering in their depths. He had a hunch, but he couldn’t voice it now. He planned to confront Peng Xiu himself.
Chief Xi then approached Xiang Yu, who was being restrained by armed police. "I told you I’d be seeing you again," he said with a smug grin.
Xiang Yu’s lips curled into a cold smile. "And I will walk right out, just like before, because you have nothing on me."
Chief Xi chuckled darkly. "Don’t be so cocky, son. You will regret it."
At that moment, a group of armed police emerged from the warehouse, carrying a case filled with guns of various kinds. "We found something," one of them announced.
Chief Xi’s eyes gleamed with triumph. "See? Turn around and put your hands behind your back."
Xiang Yu remained unfazed, his expression calm and composed. Agent Lu shoved him roughly against the patrol car. "Xiang Yu, you are under arrest for possession of illegal firearms. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law."
Xiang Yu barely registered the words. His eyes were fixed on Han Xin, who had opened the car door, ready to rush over. Xiang Yu shook his head, signalling him to stay put. Han Xin gritted his teeth and reluctantly got back into the car, his frustration palpable.
Agent Lu searched Xiang Yu for his phone but found nothing. Xiang Yu had anticipated this and left it with Han Xin. Furious, Agent Lu snarled, "What are you being cocky for?" before shoving him aggressively into the patrol car.
From his vantage point, Han Xin watched, his anger simmering. He wanted nothing more than to rush over and protect Xiang Yu, to tear Agent Lu’s hands off and feed them to the sharks. But for now, he had to bide his time and find another way to help his lover.
Xiang Yu was pushed into the patrol car with a force that would have made a lesser man stumble. He didn’t resist, his body moving with the shove as if it were a mere inconvenience. Agent Lu’s lips curled into a sarcastic smile as he leaned in, his breath hot and mocking. "Sit tight, princess. This time, you aren’t going anywhere."
Xiang Yu’s response was a slight smile, a mere twitch of his lips. But when Agent Lu caught the glint of maliciousness in Xiang Yu’s eyes, he felt a chill run down his spine. Those eyes promised a reckoning, a violent storm that would leave nothing but devastation in its wake.
For a moment, Agent Lu’s confidence wavered, but he quickly masked his fear. What was there to be afraid of? Xiang Yu was never getting out. Reassured by his own thoughts, Agent Lu slammed the door shut with a loud bam.
Inside the car, Xiang Yu relaxed into the seat, his posture almost casual, as if he were about to embark on a leisurely drive. Time passed, and soon Agent Shen and Chief Xi entered the front seats. Chief Xi’s voice was firm and commanding, "Let’s go."
Agent Shen, still haunted by past encounters with Xiang Yu, glanced nervously into the rearview mirror. The moment their eyes met, Agent Shen felt a paralyzing fear. Xiang Yu’s dark gaze seemed to pierce through him as if drawing out his very soul. Chief Xi’s repeated command, "Let’s go," went unheard until he struck Agent Shen’s chest with the back of his hand, snapping him out of his trance.
"What’s wrong with you?" Chief Xi demanded as Agent Shen started the car, his hands trembling slightly. He cleared his throat, struggling to regain his composure.
The patrol car moved forward, cutting through a throng of reporters who clamoured for a glimpse of the suspect. Cameras flashed, capturing every moment, but Xiang Yu didn’t flinch. He met their gaze with a calm, almost serene expression. He knew that this was just the beginning. A war was coming, and he was ready.
Han Xin watched the patrol car disappear into the distance, his chest heaving with anger and frustration. His sweetheart was being taken away, and there was nothing he could do to stop it. His hands trembled as he pulled out his phone to call his lawyer, but before he could dial, a soft ding drew his attention to the screen. An unfamiliar number had sent a message.
Curiosity piqued, Han Xin opened the message. It was from Old Song. The message was brief but powerful: "Proof to get Xiang Yu out of detention." Han Xin’s heart raced as he opened the attached videos. The footage showed armed police officers bringing crates of firearms into the warehouse. They had deactivated the visible security cameras by hacking into them, but they had underestimated Xiang Shu. The old man had installed multiple hidden camera systems that were nearly impossible to detect unless one knew exactly where to look.
The surveillance videos were damning. They clearly showed the police planting evidence. Han Xin quickly replied to Old Song, "I will handle it." Old Song had been sceptical when Xiang Yu insisted that Han Xin could be trusted if he ever got into trouble. He didnt want Xiang Yu to have anything to do with Han Xin but he also knew he had no choice but to obey his wishes.
Old Song’s response was swift and stern: "If you mess this up, I will hunt you down." Han Xin knew the old man meant every word. Failure was not an option. He replied with a simple, "I will take care of it," before dialling Lawyer Guang’s number.
After two rings, the lawyer answered. "Guang speaking."
