Chapter 379: What had he gotten himself into.

Xiang Yu stepped into his bedchamber, the weight of the evening of fake smiling and chatter settling heavily on his shoulders. He tugged at his cloak, pulling it off. He was like a kid after school taking off his uniform and kicking off his shoes in a hurry after a long day.

"Oh and don’t forget my dessert, had to sacrifice mine for the greater good," he called to the steward, who was already hurrying out. The man nodded, his footsteps echoing down the hallway.

With a sigh, Xiang Yu peeled off his heavy ceremonial clothes, feeling the tightness ease as he kicked off his shoes. He sank onto the couch, the cushions welcoming him like old friends, and began to unbutton his shirt, relishing the cool air against his skin.

Just then, Han Xin entered the room. Xiang Yu expected him to sit beside him or at least opposite him. But time ticked by, and Han Xin remained standing, hesitant.

Xiang Yu turned his head, and his breath caught in his throat. Han Xin was on his knees, a familiar posture that stirred something deep within Xiang Yu. He remembered the original Xiang Yu of this world used to make Han Xin kneel as a cruel display of power. But he hadn’t said anything to him so why was he kneeling.

"What are you doing?" Xiang Yu asked, a hint of confusion in his voice. "Get up."

"I am sorry," Han Xin suddenly said, his voice a whisper. "I shouldn’t have left you this morning."

Xiang Yu froze his brow arched. Just moments ago, Han Xin had said he needed to change clothes. But now, something felt off.

***

Earlier, Han Zhan had sent Han Xin a message, asking him to come to his room. He had snuck into his cousin’s room to talk to him. It was supposed to be a simple conversation about how the dinner went and about how Xiang Yu had been exposed for beating his stuff and making them disappear.

As they talked, Han Xin was taking off his shirt. That’s when Han Zhan noticed the hickeys and scratches on Han Xin’s back, and he had choked on his saliva in shock.

"What?" Han Xin asked, taking off his shirt, revealing the marks that told a story of night of fun.

"Don’t... don’t worry about me," Han Zhan had managed, beating his chest in a feeble attempt to regain composure. "I am fine."

When Han Zhan finally calmed down, he looked at Han Xin, his curiosity bubbling over. "Cousin... what, um... what did you do last night at the nightclub?"

Han Xin stiffened for a moment, then relaxed his shoulders. "Why are you asking about that?"

Han Zhan glanced at the hickeys peeking out as Han Xin tugged down his clean t-shirt. "Well, you know, I’m just curious."

"Nothing happened," Han Xin said quickly, but the look on Han Zhan’s face told him that he didn’t believe it.

Han Zhan raised an eyebrow. "Whatever it is that you did, I hope you pampered them. You are too gifted in that department... that thing might break someone."

Han Xin’s heart raced, recalling how he had run off before Xiang Yu even woke up. "What if I didn’t?" he asked, his voice low.

"Didn’t what?" Han Zhan replied, confusion lining his features.

"Didn’t stay and left before they woke up."

Han Zhan’s eyes widened in shock. "Wow, you are so heartless. You dined and dashed on them."

"It’s not like I had a choice," Han Xin shot back, a hint of defensiveness in his tone.

Han Zhan sighed, fully aware that he had to take on a fatherly role here. Otherwise, his cousin would really be single all his life. "You could have at least sent a message, ordered breakfast for them, or even written a note."

As he spoke, Han Zhan realized something crucial had slipped his mind. "Wait," he said, pausing mid-sentence. "What does this person mean to you? If it was just a casual encounter, it makes sense why you left."

Han Xin didn’t hesitate. "I want to be with him."

Han Zhan shook his head in disbelief, rubbing his eyes. "Well, you are finished. You messed up. If I were them, I would banish you and your light saber in there. I would never let that thing near me."

Panic washed over Han Xin. His pulse quickened. "No, no, it’s not like that!"

"Then fix it," Han Zhan urged, the weight of this conversation settling heavily between them. "Don’t let your chance slip away."

Han Xin paced nervously in the room. He was already aware of Xiang Yu’s displeasure with him and had stupidly thought a little coaxing would mend things, but Han Zhan had more experience than him so the matter must really be that serious. He could only hope his cousin’s advice would be effective. "What should I do?" he asked, his voice edged with anxiety.

"It can be salvaged," Han Zhan replied, a mischievous glint in his eye. "Just go kneel at their feet and act cute. If they like you, they might sleep with you again

Han Xin’s eyes widened, and he made a quick beeline for the door.

"Wait, wait! Where are you going?" Han Zhan called after him. "You still have a guest."

"What guest?" Han Xin asked, glancing back, confusion etched on his face.
