Chapter 418: The great escape 2

When she felt dizzy, Lian and Mei tried to change the location to the port, but the woman got up on her feet and tried to stop them.

The woman refused to go down, so they had to knock her out, which was incredibly difficult. As soon as she was knocked out, they parked the hovercar in front of a hospital that was along the way, then drove off, activating stealth mode.

Even though she was passed out, they weren’t sure that she would stay like that for long, so they stopped the hovercar outside the port area and ran the rest of the way to this hangar. They left their communicator to prevent the old man from tracking them.

Xiang Yu spun the captain’s chair, a playful grin on his face, only to find Lian and Mei sprawled on the floor, gasping for air. His grin vanished, replaced by concern. "What happened to you two? Did you fight a bear?"

"A bear?" Lian wheezed, pushing herself into a sitting position. "It was more like a tiger!"

Mei, still lying prone, groaned. "Master, I think I pulled a muscle," she managed, her voice strained.

Xiang Yu quickly rose and fetched them some water. They accepted the cups gratefully, murmuring simultaneous "thank yous." He allowed them a few sips before gently asking, "How do you feel? Better?"

Lian nodded, while Mei cautiously sat up, wincing. "You have to get up," Xiang Yu urged. "We have to go before they find out you’re gone."

Lian and Mei exchanged a look before slowly getting to their feet. They settled into their seats, buckling their safety belts.

"Master," Mei asked hesitantly, "do you even know how to drive this thing?"

"Yes," Xiang Yu replied confidently, a hint of amusement in his voice, "but Hex can take over as well."

As if on cue, Hex materialized in its fluffy cat-bat form, fluttering around the cockpit. "Don’t worry, Yu Yu!" Hex chirped. "I am very experienced! Buckle up!"

"Master, Hex is so cute!" Lian exclaimed, her eyes sparkling. "Can I have it?"

Hex, sensing the shift in the conversation, darted behind Xiang Yu, its fluffy body trembling slightly. Lian’s smile, however, was less cute and more unsettling.

Xiang Yu, recognizing the glint in Lian’s eyes, chuckled. "Sure," he said smoothly, "if Hex wants to go with you."

Hex shook its head vehemently, disappearing completely into the folds of Xiang Yu’s clothing.

"I want it too!" Mei chimed in. "Hex, do you want to come with me?"

Hex burrowed deeper into Xiang Yu’s clothes, clearly not interested in being anyone’s pet other than Yu Yu.
