Chapter 65: "Perhaps the general just wants an excuse to see my feet,"

Han Xin descended the mountain his mind spinning. He had the strong feeling that Xiang Yu was close by but after searching in and around the camp he found nothing. He had searched for him as much as he could, but he couldn’t shake this gut feeling that he was around. He also couldn’t help but think of the heavily guarded cage draped with a damp cloth that was at the edge of the military camp. He couldn’t get in close to take a look because it was guarded. He was curious about who Xiang Yu had captured.

Because his mind was filled with unanswered questions his expression was grim. As he reached the group, he announced, "We should head back." The men quickly got up ready to follow his orders. Han Xin’s eyes flickered to Princess Xiu as one soldier brought his horse to him. She was hopping on one leg, looking rather pitiful.

She was being assisted by her maidservants, but the twin girls were too short to be of much help. Seeing this, Jun De rushed over to lend a hand. With a smile as radiant as a spring lily, Princess Xiu took Jun De’s hand, and he helped her onto a tall horse. Her expression was a far cry from the fierce glare he gave him earlier. She was much kinder to Jun De than him. He was about to look away when he saw that Jun De was about to mount the same horse as her. His brows furrowed and he intervened.

"Jun De... That is very inappropriate," he stated firmly before mounting his horse. Jun De immediately obeyed the general’s command, stepping back. He was only helping her because she had said she couldn’t ride a horse and her ankle was broken. _{freewёbnoνel.com}

Xiang Yu glared at him and complained, "General Han, my ankle is broken."

Han Xin stared at her wordlessly for a while before replying with a hint of sarcasm, "Does Her Highness hold the reins with your foot?"

"No," answered Xiang Yu, his voice tinged with annoyance and frustration. He had no idea that he was being set up by this ugly bastard.

"Then you don’t need help riding," said Han Xin, his tone leaving no room for argument. He was not in the mood for this back and forth but he had no idea who he was dealing with.

Xiang Yu was used to losing arguments when it came to the twins but he refused to lose an argument against Han Xin. Step two of the plan to ruin any romantic thoughts between Han Xin and Peng Xiu was to make Peng Xiu seem so insufferable to be around. "General Han, I have never ridden a horse before," he declared, his eyes challenging him.

"Not a problem," Han Xin responded, his voice softening slightly but his tone was still cold. "I will ride alongside you to guide your horse."

Xiang Yu, "???" Aaaahhhh, why was he so stubborn?

"Thank you very much General for your kind offer but I would rather somebody else help me," he said the sarcasm in his voice unmistakable. The soldiers who were trying to mind their business and not eavesdrop couldn’t resist indulging themselves in this spicy tea. Their General barely said a few words except when issuing orders. Now he was arguing with who they had now found out to be the long-lost princess of Yige.
