Barbara smiled politely and replied, "Feel free to have some more if you like."

Anne nodded obediently and asked, "Mrs. Barbara, have you ever tried Ounan cuisine?"

"When Corey and I flew international flights in the past, we had the opportunity to visit Ouna and taste the delicacies there."

Anne listened thoughtfully. "How did you find the taste?"

"Not bad. Each country has its own unique dishes," Barbara responded casually, focusing on her food.

Anne glanced at the two chefs and several servants standing beside the dining table.

After consideration, she spoke in a playful tone, "During my stay in Froania, I've been having local cuisine every day. I'd like to try some Ounan dishes. Could you fulfill this little wish of mine?"

Barbara's hand paused as she sensed there was more to Anne's request.

"Ms. Windsor, do you have something in mind?"

"I know a chef from Ouna, an old acquaintance of mine. Could you hire him to come to the Lawson estate for a few days and prepare some Ounan meals for me?"

Hiring a chef was no big deal, and Barbara had no reason to refuse, especially since she had promised Anne last night to go along with any arrangements.

"Alright, if you like, we can arrange for the chef to start tomorrow," Barbara agreed.

Anne's smile brightened. "That would be wonderful."

Then, she lowered her gaze slightly, hiding the gleam in her eyes.

"Since Mr. Corey is ill and Ms. Lawson hasn't even visited him once, why not invite her over for some Ounan cuisine together?"

Barbara sensed something was amiss in Anne's proposal.

Her tone turned slightly cold, and she replied, "Alright, got it. I'll finish up work and come back for a visit."

With a brief and distant response, Sheena hung up the phone.

Barbara listened to the dial tone in frustration and complained to Anne, "Did you hear that? I'm her sister-in-law. Yet, she treats me like this. Not even a word of respect. She was even so impatient!"

She sighed.

She was secretly anxious, hoping Anne would reveal more about tomorrow night's plan.

However, Anne just held her hand tightly and gently patted her hand back.

"You've been suffering because of Mr. Corey's situation, being implicated and resented by Ms. Lawson. It's been tough on you. But soon, all of this will come to an end."

Seeing that Anne was not revealing anything, Barbara decided to take the initiative and ask indirectly, "Have you arranged your plans for tomorrow night properly? No one's going to get hurt, right?"
