Logan and his team ignored Stanley's incessant shouting.
However, Stanley was a ball of energy, shouting like it was his last struggle before meeting his death.
Fed up, Logan tore off a piece of tape and taped his mouth shut.
"Mr. Peter is currently enjoying his stay in a small room in the National Investigation Bureau. Mr. Jenkins would like you to experience it as well."
When he heard that he was being detained by the National Investigation Bureau, Stanley quickly stopped struggling.
As long as he was not getting lashed or being sent to the high-security prison, there was still a chance.
Stanley figured a week at the National Investigation Bureau was manageable, but he soon found out he had been too optimistic.
Peter had not done anything serious, plus he was an elder. Hence, Elliot allowed him to stay in a single room. Even though it was bare, at least he did not have to share a toilet with others.
However, Stanley was treated differently. He was thrown in with a bunch of people.
There were over ten burly guys, no beds, and just one toilet.
All of them were suspects, and not for minor crimes either.
As Stanley was shoved in and the door locked behind him, he clung to the iron bars, shouting, "I want to see Elliot! Let that bastard Elliot come see me!"
Calling the head of the National Investigation Bureau a bastard right off the bat was not exactly courteous, but it was not a foul word either.
Still, his arrogant attitude resembled a privileged youth who had never been disciplined.
The officers were extremely displeased and did not bother responding to him.
After locking the door, they all left.
"Hey! Stop right there!" Stanley shouted, but the officers were already out of sight.
The atmosphere felt eerie, as if many eyes were watching him, making him feel uneasy all over.
He weakly turned around and scanned his surroundings, only to find a group of men of various heights and builds, all staring at him.
He had never been in a place like this before, and his bravado quickly faded.
Stanley screamed in pain, too stunned to react, as he was almost knocked unconscious from the impact.
The big guy held him tightly by the hair, pressing him against the door, and uttered through gritted teeth, "Elliot had me and many of my friends arrested during the last crackdown. He even got me thrown in here. I despise him!"
Confused, Stanley tried to defend himself, "Elliot's the one who wronged you, not me! Why are you attacking me?"
The big guy did not let go. Instead, he tightened his grip, almost tearing off Stanley's scalp.
"Elliot's too powerful, and I can't do anything to him, but I can deal with you and vent some of my frustrations!"
Stanley felt a mix of emotions.
Damn it!
He was simply unlucky!
Being locked up was bad enough, but he was being treated like a punching bag because of Elliot!
