Santiago sighed. "Peter actually doesn't know the whole truth. He pieced together some information to try to threaten you. What I said is the truth."

Elliot did not believe a word and would not absorb any of what Santiago was saying.

"Grandpa, get some rest. There's still some business at the National Investigation Bureau that needs my attention. Goodbye."

Elliot turned to leave.

Santiago called out, "Eli, they're family. I don't want to see any more family conflicts and death before I die. I hope to see all my descendants gathered together under one roof."

Elliot paused in his tracks but did not turn back.

He weighed Santiago's words for a long time before finally striding out of the room.

Santiago's so-called "truth" left him feeling unsettled.

Sheena happened to come downstairs and saw him standing lost in thought in the hallway.

"How's Grandpa? Did the medical team come to check on him?"

"He's fine," Elliot replied.

His answer instantly made Sheena understand that Santiago had been pretending to be ill. Nonetheless, she was in no place to say anything as she was just his granddaughter-in-law, so she remained silent.

Elliot put his arm around her shoulder and asked, "How are the babies? Are they asleep?"

Sheena nodded. "They're already asleep. They fussed a bit when I went upstairs, but they settled down quickly. They're doing good."

Elliot breathed a sigh of relief.

"That's good. Let's go. I'll walk you back home."

Sheena was puzzled. "You want me to go home first?"

Elliot checked his watch.

It was almost 10 p.m., still an hour to go.

"I have to deal with Uncle Peter and Stanley. I need to hear what Uncle Peter has to say."

In the dimly lit cell, only Peter sat leisurely against the wall, smoking.

The swirling smoke blurred his expression, adding an air of mystery.

He lowered his gaze, suppressing his burning determination to end it all, silently waiting for Elliot and Sheena to approach.

"Elliot, your management of the National Investigation Bureau seems lacking. Stanley has gone missing. Don't you owe me an explanation?"

Elliot's gaze turned icy cold as he stepped forward, towering over him.

"Uncle Peter, you're quite impressive. You had someone sneak into the National Investigation Bureau and quietly take Stanley from the holding cell."

Before this, he and Sheena had already visited the surveillance room.

Logan was also working overtime to investigate the matter.

Oddly enough, just half an hour ago, the entire surveillance system at the National Investigation Bureau was maliciously hacked, forcing all cameras to shut down.
