Late at night, the VIP floor of the hospital's inpatient department was unusually quiet.

The dim lights in the ward suddenly flickered, plunging the room into darkness for a moment before power was restored. It caused quite a commotion on the floor, but it quickly settled down.

Nurses hurriedly made their rounds, entering different rooms.

Coincidentally, the guard stationed at the door just started his shift.

When he noticed the situation, he conducted a routine inquiry.

"What's going on at this hour?"

A young nurse, sounding anxious, replied, "Didn't you notice the power outage just now? Many instruments in the ward need to be recalibrated. Let me in quickly, or else you'll be held responsible if something goes wrong!"

The guard was taken aback and quickly allowed her to pass.

No one was in the ward, and the monitoring equipment beeped erratically.

The nurse closed the door tightly and went straight to the crib.

She picked up the blanket and prepared to escape through the window but paused.

Something seemed off. Why was no one watching over the room as expected?

It all seemed too easy…

Suddenly, alarms blared throughout the hospital grounds.

"Catch the thief! Someone took advantage of the power outage to cause chaos and steal! Everyone, be on high alert!"

The lights came on brightly.

The nurse immediately jumped out the window, carefully trailed along the wall, and hid in the alleyway beside the hospital building, clutching onto the child.

Outside the hospital fences, assistance was already waiting.

As soon as the car door opened, she jumped in, and they sped away.

At the mansion in the woods…

Everyone inside stood up when they heard noises at the entrance, and their expressions varied.

Billie, still with his sunglasses on, walked over quickly.

He smiled and asked, "Did you get it?"

The woman disguised as a nurse nodded and handed over the baby.

"Not bad… Mr. Cameron, you didn't believe me when I said your men couldn't pull it off. See? You still had to rely on my people for the last step."

With that, he slowly cradled the child in his arms, feigning a gentle smile.

"Little one, do you know how anxious your daddy must be right now? His expression must be priceless."

He immediately lifted the blanket… and his smile soon froze.

Within seconds, a storm brewed in his eyes, and he kicked the woman fiercely.

"What is this? Did you leave your brain at home before the mission?"

He yawned, clicking his tongue twice before adding, "You shouldn't have underestimated my people. You've been played just the same. If Mr. Fitzpatrick finds out, you might not live to see another day."

Billie suddenly turned his head, his sharp gaze almost piercing through his sunglasses.

"Ha, what's there to fear? We still have a trump card up our sleeves."

He adjusted his clothes and slowly cracked his neck.

"Our lovely Mrs. Jenkins is still in the basement, right? Bring me to her."

Jacob blocked his path, his voice cold as he reminded, "Billie, Mrs. Jenkins was captured by Mr. Cameron. You have no business with her. You're just trying to shift the target onto her because of your incompetence."

Billie frowned, finding him annoying.

"Mr. Cameron, we've already spoiled our plan. If we don't use Mrs. Jenkins to our advantage and let her fulfill her purpose, neither of us will stand a chance if we drag this out any longer."

Miguel shook his head, saying, "I'm sorry, but after this failure, I've completely lost trust in you. If you want to continue working together, please have Mr. Fitzpatrick come forward."

The operation had failed, and it was indeed unconvincing if "Mr. Fitzpatrick" was still unwilling to show himself.

Billie stared at Miguel silently for a long time, then nodded.

"Fine."

The call was quickly connected, and a rough voice came through.

After listening for only a few sentences, he shouted harshly, "What a bunch of useless idiots! Get me in touch with Elliot himself. His woman is in my hands now, and I refuse to believe he's not losing sleep over it!"

Miguel dialed the number and put it on speaker.
