Elliot immediately turned to leave. "I've got to handle an international case with the National Investigation Bureau. Have fun while I'm gone, Asher. I'll tell you a piece of good news when I get back, but it won't be until after ten when the results come in."

Asher nodded. "Go on, Daddy. We'll be fine here."

Mavis watched this warm family scene and felt a pang of longing.

She rested her head on Sheena's shoulder and said wistfully, "I really envy you. Asher and Adora are just so adorable."
