He slid the finalized contract across the table and asked, "Do you want to review the terms again?"

Mavis carefully read through the contract before signing her name with the sleek black and gold pen. Then, she stood up and extended her hand across the table.

"Mr. Nicholls, here's to a successful partnership. I look forward to working with you."

Nathaniel folded his hands on the table, his piercing blue eyes fixed on her, showing no intention of standing to shake hands.

"You're too far away for a handshake."

Mavis was caught off guard, but considering the generous terms of the contract, she walked around the long table toward Nathaniel.

Even though Mavis wanted to ignore his jealousy, she was angrier about something else.

"Did you have someone follow me?"

"Who?"
